Raining again..horrible weather. It’s better to not bat again today. Hopefully bat tomorrow and get atleast 170.

with both teams having brittle batting lineups if there are 4 sessions spread across 5 days , we will have a result

Phase out players who are clearly not good enough . Stop recycling the same players .

Our batting has never looked this bad , last we toured SENA we had three batsmen in Virat/VJ/Rahane who did very well , Pujara was inconsistent . Dhawan/Rohit where proved completely useless . so clearly the problem in the linup where these two ?  not a miracle worker , but where Kohli/Shastri expecting a  miracle with these two suddenly developing technique ? Completely wasted the home series on these two , where instead we could have groomed some other youngster .

As you are suggesting , lets say every one but Virat in the team is carp , but have we developed one decent backup for this test team ?  Next time we play at home , I will not be surprised one bit if Dhawan and Rohit are both in playing 11 again .

Are players developed in air, who are those players which you want them to replace these TTFs.

VJ was sure fire starter in everyone's book but he has stunk last 4 tests and some how it is coach's fault.Rahul is averaging in single digits but it is coach's fault.

Rahane has done nothing in last test or against SL but it is coach's fault. Coach and captain's job is to work with players they have been given.

Who were the backups which were developed when fab four were playing, you don't develop backup, why was Australia struggling when their core players retired.

Still feel this game will end in a result. If we get a game today. India's first innings might end and tomorrow England will bat in sunshine and then day 4 India will be under pressure to come behind on the lead.

Last time I checked, refusing to play any practice matches was a "team management" decision. Reduction in the days of practice as well. You might say Kohli scored runs without practice, that is just an anamoly. It doesn't wok that way in international sport. I am not sure why you are defending the coach, when it is clear as daylight how inefficient he has been.

The previous coach caused rebellion because he wanted changes, the current coach backed by the players does nothing but just have a good ol time. Don't you see a pattern here? while we are on the same page about the players not focusing enough, Don't think Kumble and Shastri even belong in the same sentence.

Sorry I don't rate Kumble as a great coach .What are those changes he wanted,

Do you see this team's players getting lazy or not being fit. They are an excellent fielding side and except catching they are world class on the field catching has been problem for this team for ever.

How do you know this coach does nothing have you seen their practices or have you heard from anyone that he is not doing anything.

What exactly are those fundamental changes which need to be changed on this team. There is no change needed give these guys chance you guys are making it sound like they getting whopped.

Murali’s wicket was exceptional bowling. Rest ..stupidity.

Ball swinging in the first over, nobody would play a glance for a ball that is on the middle, bad bad choice of a shot to not play straight, he would still have gotten a outside edge or a drop catch.

Front foot players in Eng has to stand a foot outside crease to negate swing. Rahul needs to learn how to go front and back off. He has a middle guard and knows where his off stump is, he should not commit defence unless it is coming in.

Rahul problem is he pokes too much outside offstump still in odi mode.

How would anyone know who the backups are without even trying them? There are dozens of batsmen performing in domestic and A tours.

You won't drop failures, you won't try any new talents and you can't get the best out of players who have done well in the past? Let's not blame coach/captain.

Last time I checked they did play first test and still openers did not get past single digits in second test either. But you are saying these guys would have scored 100s if they had extra day practice.Aussies came and whopped India in Pune when Kumble was coach so didn't they practice enough then?

Coach is best judge to see what player wants.I don't put much stock on these practice games.

True. Actually teams in past have criticized for lack of practice matches. The last few years is the first time practice matches are skipped and whatever are being played are shortened as well. indeed, the practice matches are not given the due importance in recent past.
