Hardik Pandya is a batting all-rounder and more experienced than Pant. So sent ahead. Not necessarily such an outstanding thought. But understandable. Ashwin is a bowling all-rounder and since he seem to better than even top order in England he can also be sent ahead of Pant. Shami is a bowler and he won't be sent ahead of Pant for sure. And yes be ready, Pant is going to put your old grandpa Dhoni in retirement phase soon.
