Kohli should not have rested in this tournament. Its against our arch rivals and our kuptaan sahab left the team alone. He could have rested during WI series.

This is what seperates Sachin and Kohli

He is nursing a back injury why risk it unnecessarily better he takes his time in fact he should be rested for home series as well better for him to save him for our overseas assignments later this year and the WC next year.India Pakistan is not be all and end all for us.

So he is playing test cricket with back injury???

All these are BAHANAS which fools our janata.  He is just picking and choosing series since last December (since he got married). With world cup not far, as a captain he must get the ODI team in order rather than sitting out. Else play as a batsman and let Rohit built this team for WC.

Btw, Pandya, Dhawan, Bumrah etc. all had same workload as Kohli but all of them will be playing.

So according to you Kohli is faking his injury according to you as it is Asia cup is meaningless tournament it was better just like Nidihas trophy we sent youngsters here rather than sending Dhoni or Rayudu plus WC match against Pakistan is more important than the Asia Cup match.

There is no injury to fake it. If he was injured, he would not have played these tests as well. In the ground the way he is jumping around, does it looks like injury to you?

The reason Kohli opted out of Asia cup bcoz he felt its an insignificant tournament for him, like he did for Nidahas trophy but remarkebly got fit for IPL. But as a captain, he should never consider any series as insignificant, especially when world cup is so near. Rather than building an already struggling ODI team...his sitting out is not something I am fond of.

If you are genuinely injured (like Bhuvi) you rest immidiately. Not resting in a tournament happening almost a month later.

It’s time for prasad and his goonies to leave the selection alone .

Who is the selection committee now ?

india has numbers both supply and demand side ie players and matches . So a logical means of qualifying players for specific tournments can be done . No need to keep the same players .

I hope we have a fast bowler in selection committee who understand what we shud look in a fast bowler for international cricketer

Someone like Agarkar is really good, he is not afraid to speak his mind . Lets not waste such resources

Agarkar, nehra, zak all shud be used by us in diff capacities

Not a weakened squad which many people expected but why lalloo Rohit is captain? A bit off topic but Rohit is prolly the most outgoing person in India's team. Saw him in the UK on three different instances. Once in the train station with his wife, then in a restaurant outside hotel and then at Bicester Village

I guess getting out comes naturally to him

I feel all these ex cricketers talk the big game of changing selection means before they get to the chair . Once they are their they get baised to maintain the same philosophy which has been holding back Indian cricket for generations .

Bcci website doesn’t even list its selectors just pulls up empty . Still no transparency and accountability .

What will be characteristics for an ideal selection panel for a country like India which has abundant resources with the cricketing fraternity ?

1 . Qaintative methods for weeding out bad players .

2. Data driven decisions in evaluating pitches conditions of stadiums where matches will take place

3. Estimating and predicting opposition strategy.

4. Understanding the goals and needs of the team

5. Understanding the resources available within the bcci selection system

6. Ability to use technology for selection .

5. Understanding the art of winning games.

more u think about , a selectors job becomes more corporate a data driven and tbh Cricketers aren’t the smartest people on the planet .
