When was the last time this Ind side pleasantly surprised with a result

Team is good, need a couple of good batsmen, who dont go into a shell. and Bit of luck - like not loosing 4 tosses in a row lol.

 

Its a hard fought test series, hope they win the last test. Eng is not that good a team, so its possible.

Think India won one series in England last decade. So there have been those moments.

a 2-3 loss rather than 1-4  is going a long way in ensuring the team maintainig the no:1 ranking. Also keep in mind we lost all tosses .When END came here they won most of the tosses yet could't win a single test in India.

People didn't get the gist of the thread.Its specifically about this team may be last 5-6 years.You look at matches where we are chasing big in tests or ODIs in big matches Every result is as per prediction and that's a loss for Ind.

The 1986 series in England was probably the last time  India managed to win more than one test match in a SENA country. After that it has only been an odd win here and there. For me, the 2007 series win in England was the last pleasant surprise.

That series was a good win in 2007 as England were the favourites and damn strong at home ,unbeaten in  a home series for a long time
