coffee_rules
We can't go to Aus with a MO of Vihari, Pant, Bhuvi/Pandya/Jadeja especially when we have Shaw, KLR opening. Rahane needs to be there. He will come good. WC2011INDIA 1 Link to comment
Tendulkar1996
Rahane is washed up,i cant remember the last time he scored a big hundred. His 'come good' is at best a fighting fifty. As the heir to laxman's spot - its simply not good enough.Try vihari/rohit(yes rohit is better than him as long as its not swinging,he can handle spin and bounce much better).Eventually anmol or gill will replace him. Rahane looks timid and always defensive in mindset. We already have a character like that in pujara,we dont need more of it.Pant is a breath of fresh air in that middle order.Pandya is a joke, but we have no options. We need a solid number five.Hoping vihari can do it,otherwise maybe rohit. If both fail bring in anmolpreet or gill. rtmohanlal
Rahane rides on his avg: of 40+ to stay in the team. That's why it is such a make or break series coming for him, the AUS series. Even more so with the hack Pujara because, if he fails, that would be the 8th series in SENA. Link to comment

If he fails there, then he should be dropped from the test squad altogether. Lets see what the “SENA Specialist” is really made of. Iirc, in the last two years, he is avg only 26 in SENA .... his failure put pressure on newcomers batting down the order Link to comment

Dhawan avgs 40 too if you take note you can see that i didn't vote in the poll. Firstly i don't agree with 'Don't take him to Aus' . Secondly other 2 options are not my cup of tea because I badly wish him to succeed for the sake of 'team' only. Just telling that he deserves his chances there. If he fails , his place in the team should be in serious trouble as far as I am concerned. Not only that , now that Pujara is selected for the AUS series(which i badly wish didn't happen because of him being undeserving in my esteem) I badly wish Pujara too would perform brilliantly too this time for the 'sake' of the team . Rahane & Pujara both are same for me, 2 totally unfamiliar men. What all matters to me is as to whether they deserve their places in the 'Indian team about which only' I am concerned. express bowling 1 Link to comment

Rahul can be hot or cold too so can even bring in Agarwal for the 2nd test probably mayank may also play with rahul and prithvi in third test, could be ahead of rahane as only he looks out of touch. Vk1
Seeing our bowlers and captain complaining so strongly about SG ball on it's early softening and thus making it very easy for middle and lower order batsman.. it is in this context that Rahane's lack of runs is even more deplorable.. zen and UrmiSinhaRay 1 1 Link to comment
zen
Considering our schedule in WTC 2019-21, it is important for us to win in every game in Ind Gone are the days to consider using Ind series as a practise for tests in SENA. Players like Rahane, if they don't perform in Ind, could turn into a liability Edited October 12, 2018 by zen UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment
zen
Adelaide Test Hazlewood to Rahane, OUT, edged and caught at second slip! Another booming drive extracts the edge! This was full and wide again and swinging late, he drives on the up, gets a thick edge that flies high to second slip and Handscomb takes another good catch above his head with two hands! Sandeep99
This guy had one fluky season. That is all. And we started hyping him as some kind of god of away conditions. Such a noobish game. Not sure how these guys train.. they never correct their basics.. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment
Straight Drive
Apart from Virat Kohli all replacements of Fab 4 are duplicate versions with just 2-3 years of good form in whole career. The odd peak probably raised false expectations. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment
GolGappe
Disappointing little rat. Plays one good enough inning per series to hold onto his place. Listen to his bloated interviews and you'd think he is the second coming of Sunil Gavaskar. Both Rahul and Rahane are skating on pretty thin ice. Rahul has batted in much more difficult conditions than him If Rahane doesn't deliver in second innings, Vihari will take his spot. Shaw's injury and Vijay's flop show may save Rahul for now.
