Thats not the statement the supreme court made when hiding the names though. They didn't talk about cause or evidence. They said it will shake India if the names are revealed. That seems very dubious reasoning from the highest court

But they never said that. That was not the statement supreme court said. They specified about shaking up india and not about evidence. There is a huge difference between saying- there is no evidence and we dont want a witch hunt and saying- if we reveal the names it will shake the nation.

but they also did not say they had evidence.  if there were evidences, they would not have remained closed.  you cannot reveals names and create sensation just based on allegation.  They are court and not media.
