Just because he has time to play his strokes or has lazy elegance doesn’t equate to him having a poor work ethic or being lazy. Some people have controlled diet but might have thyroid problem or other genetic factors that despite the diet may make them put on weight. His technique is not good enough for tests. Also he just cant hang in tough sessions. The 2014 Adelaide test was prime example. We have seen this so many times. He is poor man's pujara out side of subcontinent. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment

These bowlers have been taking 20 wkts in every match. In SAF & ENG , Ashwin avg:ed 30.5 & 32.5 respectively. In the lone test Jadeja played in( the most batting friendly pitch of the series going by score card) he avg:ed 36.5 taking 7 wkts. In ENG Shami could avg: only 38.5 .Umesh played only in 1 test in 'ENG+ SAF' combined and hence inconclusive. And the track record of all seamers in AUS have been mediocre in every sense till now. So, if conclusions can be drawn from all the above data, only 2 seamers preferably Bumrah & Bhuvi(can bat too) are enough . Ashwin,Jadeja,Kuldeep trio as a unit can be at least as effective as the other 2 because of them being relatively unfamiliar to Aussies especially Kuldeep. And they can put some runs too.Another thing is that , these 3 along with Vihari can keep scoring tight by bowling relatively more overs so that Bumrah & Bhivi can be comparatively fresher every time they starts a new spell. Switchblade
Quote Major impact on ticket sales “It has been an issue, it has affected ticket sales. One of the characteristics that we have noticed is that we are quite down in interstate sales given it’s a day Test, not a day-night Test. There is definitely a day-night factor, without a doubt,” said Bradshaw as quoted by News.com.au. The Indian team head coach Ravi Shastri stated in a meeting with the Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) that the team management and the players require some more time in order to prepare themselves for the day-night fixtures. Bradshaw also mentioned that the fans have come in huge numbers for every day-night Test matches played in the past at the venue. “The fans have absolutely voted with their feet in the last few years that we have had day-night Tests. We have been significantly up for attendances,” he added. https://www.crictracker.com/sale-of-tickets-dropped-down-after-team-indias-refusal-to-play-day-night-test-at-adelaide/ UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment
