Remove Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara and India will struggle too, says Tim Paine

While that might be the truth, Paine shouldn't have said it publicly. Good leaders fight with whatever resources they have and don't whine about missing players - especially when they are out due to cheating bans. Moreover, this series isn't over yet and can still end up as a tie, in which case it would be a creditable achievement for the Aussies.

But it's their home. India can beat any team at home even if they don't have pujara and kohli.

He basically insulted the replacements of SMith and Warner.  Wonder how they feel now. :hysterical:

Paine has become the Captain of Australia and Peter Siddle is back and just recently spotted Caneron white in their side and Aron Finch is a test opener . Warne was suggesting Matthew Wade and D’arcy Short for the 4th rest.

They are already a joke

Did not read the entire article but just based on the thread title he is not wrong. Kohli and Pujara have been the difference between both sides.

Putting aside his intent and other factors like Warner, Smith etc

If we don't play kohli and pujara at home, we will still win against most sides.

Hope that doesn't happen. Hope Paine wallows in self-pity and keep losing . He's showing bad sportsmanship by not acknowledging Indian team performance. If this was done by India during the 2004 series (India didn't have SRT I believe), we would be considered bad sports. Fock Paine and the Aussie media

I just watched Paine's press conference. It took a barrage of questions from the Aussie media to elicit this whining response. He said at first that we have an inexperienced batting line up and coming against a world class attack it was very hard. Credit to the Indians they deserved the win. In the second question about the same, we are trying to improve, we did well in perth, this test it didn't work, we have to keep improving. The third question was about the sandpaper workers Smith and Warner. He said yes they miss them and further prodding he said fock it and said if Pujara and Kohli were missing yada yada.

So this isnt Paine's work because he started off praising the Indian team. The Aussie media kept prodding about the batting weakness and suggested Smith and Warner and finally Paine caving to the pressure. You need to watch the full press conferences to get the right picture and not the truncated bits or a newspaper article which is bound to add masala. The Aussie media is full of arsekissers to Smith and Warner and probably are paid by Vodafone Australia who did that awful Smith ad.

I think he's wrong. Even without kohli and pujara we will still win series at home because of the batting depth due to jadeja and ashwin and also we have plenty of proper bats in our domestic circuit for home conditions at least .

Off course the margin of the series wins wont be that large .

All that aside I still believe that it's not easy to beat even this Australian side at home because of their batting depth and world class attack .

Barring saf and maybe England they'd still thrash the other remaining sides

He should have just said they are not here, let's not discuss about what ifs. But knowing how strong the sympathy wave is for Smith & co, he had to say something nice about them so that he doesn't get promptly kicked out when they are back.
