We have seen comments on KL and Pandya on everything by a select group (some agenda driven) from their instagram pictures, the clothes that they wear, etc., and what happened here is only an extension of this .... People even supported Shami. If someone else had said this, it would probably have been laughed off

Where is "feminism" coming here?  Stick to cricket. Who cares what bollywood actresses talk. BCCI has no control over them lol otherwise they will also face suspension. When Smriti Mandana says the same thing she will face the same scrutiny. So don't dilute what these insta boys said by turning this into a social issue or men vs women issue. They can talk whatever they want. Let them not screw the chances for other  promising youngsters while they are using their celebrity status to score chicks.

Yes those were creepy misogynistic comments. But the BCCI reaction has been extreme. Deserved a fine and a suspension for a match or two.

 

On Sachin, the entire online outrage started with Sachin fans targeting both of them, then later someone saw those misogynistic remarks, feminist twitter handles took over and bingo, you had op-Ed’s written about it very next day in papers by the forever outraged feminists always looking for such issues to drive their agenda. Then the debate gradually got expanded to how this will damage our cricket. To me everything looked coordinated to further amplify the outrage.

 

A bumbling BCCI, with two CoA jokers fighting publicly about how they should deal with this issue only made this into a much larger issue which will now affect the whole team. Also, do not be surprised to see Kohli Shastri getting dragged into this for promoting such culture in the team. That to me seems to be the end objective.

Why would Sachin fans target them. Oh for saying Kohli was better. You know these things take life of their own , these two might not have speculated this when they gave those remarks on the show.

 

Thats where they need to grow up and understand what they can or cannot say in public. Steve Smith also thought by saying sorry to ball tampering issue just like brainfade issue everything would be forgiven and forgotten.But that controversy took life of its own and you know what happened in the end.

 

I don't know if BCCI educates these players about honey traps, people like these two need to get a crash course in it.
