Another myth . Barring UP MP Bihar and cow belt most of india now have 2 or less than 2 tfr which is similar to many European nations. So it is people from hindi speaking belt who reduce to need tfr. The rest are fine

Its an India problem. Saying its UP-Bihar problem is basically saying 'its not my problem, so i don't care'...why stop there ? UP-Biharis can say 'its gao-wallah problem, we city-folks are fine' and continue to pass the buck.

We as a society and species are facing three choices very soon:

1. Reduce our population significantly ( ie, not holding pattern, but go back to 1900 population levels- for India it means nearly 5 fold reduction) if we want to persue the western life-style of 'gaari, banglaa, vacation, beaches' for everyone

2. Get into a holding pattern and live like the third world, where we can sustain ourselves hand-to-mouth with basic ammenities

3. Go about the way we do and have severe to extreme class difference happening along with completely screwing up the planet.

No other option exists, barring some miracle tech showing up.

Since when bollywood is role model for common indians? Divorces , having more than one wife , marrying old men were quite common from ages in Bollywood but still that is not acceptable in indian society

It is becomming more acceptable. At end of the day, you don't need marriage to stick together and make a family. Yes, the kids need mom and dad together to have a healthy, balanced life but mom and dad need to be together and if they dont need a piece of paper and a super-expensive fancy ceremony to declare to the world that they are together (shaadi), then its fine.

This is not about bollywood any longer.

It is about being giving the opportunity of not following the society norms just to tick the boxes.

There are so many people who marry only because of pressure from family, being forced to live a family life they don't want to live. Both genders.

Men being forced to take on responsibility they don't want to take because the parents have to see the grandchild.

Women being forced to marry and suffer an alien family when they want to live a free life. Being forced to have children that they have to care for a long long time.

Mothers having to suffer a daughter in law who wants to share her son ,just for a grand child.

Woman having to suffer a mother in law just because she wants a child.

What these bollywood guys have done is give freedom to all these people .

The only roadblock is the govt new law on surrogacy( absolutely necessary to prevent misuse ).

But people will bypass that by involving relatives and friends.

You will see strange things happening.

There has already been a case( in India) of a mother carrying a child for her daughter who could not do so because of medical reasons.

Another  case where a mother's uterus was transplanted into daughter who had to have a hysterectomy at a young age.

These things that involve children are adopted so easily by our society.

Remember how well they adopted the technology to get babies of the required gender.

Is there any humane way to reduce population ? Medical science is making people live longer and longer but they are hardly making them live youthful life as a result dependent population is increasing. Forget about India even Japan and China are unable to reduce population. Their aging population is increasing while young working population is declining. Reducing birth rate cuts down working population which puts severe pressure on economy . Even China has to reverse 1 child norm despite no reduction in population.

This is only one side of story. Parents pressure their children to marry because they know their chances of finding best mate is early . Most youngsters these days just don't want to live in reality. They keep delaying their marriage but still want dream partners. Women want rich handsome educated men with big salary . Men wants young beautiful educated women. Indians these days have extremely . I have all examples in family . One of my cousin had truck load of proposals but she rejected. She started looking from 30s but at that time all her dream men were gone . result she is now in mid 40s unmarried depressed

Lol just like Ambani is role model for all? Surrogacy is extremely expensive. Moreover it is also oppressive. Feminine all over world want to ban prostitution but surrogacy is acceptable. If a man wants a good time with woman for 30 minutes for which he pays , he is oppressing her. but someone pay a woman to carry child for 9 months then its ok.

There is case of 90 plus man becoming father . These are exceptions. There were always exception and there always will be they cannot become norm of society

Such a society that makes one an outcast is a cruel society that deserves little respect.

People in cities don't care about society .

The society in urban areas is less caring of what people do with their lives.

As for people marrying late or being extra picky...that is a different issue altogether.

Such people have existed in all times...some people just are not realistic.

This thread in not about unrealistic picky people. It is about people who do not want to marry or do not want conventional marriage.

There are people who do not need marriage.

People who do not want kids .

Gays and lesbians who do not want conventional hetero marriages.

Asexuals who do not want intimacy.

All these people are forced into marriages and spoil the lives of their partners....just for the sake of keeping family happy or following society rules.

Agree on the ban on commercial surrogacy completely . It is the worst form of exploitation .

But people are free to help out family members and friends by carrying the baby for them .

Since the cases of common people do not come into public domain...I can only cite the example of Shahrukh Khan. His sister is believed to have been a surrogate for their third child.

This will  catch on faster in our society because ..

1) It has no stigma of 'sex out side marriage ' . When no sex is involved, everything is hunky dory with society.

2) The extreme obsession with children in our society. People would rather have grandchildren through surrogacy than not have grandchildren.

Yes....surrogacy is costly but not so costly if it is done amongst family and friends .

Even fertility treatments are costly....but people find the resources because it is important to them.

90 year old guys or 50 year old woman having babies happened in the past too.

But people having babies through surrogacy is new. People choosing to be single parent through surrogacy is new. This has given single people a chance to become parents without marriage ...with social approval.

Seriously ?! Do you travel a lot ? If you do, you' see 65-70 year olds fit enough to travel like most folks...Ie, not backpack or hike macchu picchu but these old folks getting off planes, hailing taxis, going to hotels, walking around the historic parts of the cities etc.
How many 65-70 year olds were fit enough to do that 100 years ago ? like less than 1/100th of them.

Medical science *is* making it easier and easier to have youthful lives later and later. Obviously it takes humongous time to make a big difference because medical science cannot override genetics or nutrition in just a few generations. but it is making a difference.

Anyways, the humane way to reduce population is something that we can only speculate on. China thought 1 child policy would work but then realized its a quick way to demographic doom. Ideally 2 kids per family for most and having 70-80% people producing kids *should* produce a holding pattern for population ( assuming that some people WILL have 3 or more kids). Maybe some form of swinging back and forth between 1 child policy, 2 child-dominant households and incremental usage of labor-saving automated services is a way. But the problem is, as the western world is slowly starting to realize, too much replacement of human labor, connection with the biological and ecological processes can have adverse effects on human psychology and mental well being.

Did you just pull the bolded part out of your rear-end ? The overwhelming majority of feminists support legalization of prostitution and legalizing it simply has so many positives, its hard to justify criminalizing it even more than hard drugs.

korean society is far more money minded  .. my korean colleague told that he will get married only buying a home which will cost  10/15 years of his salary

byt he time he amrries , he will be above 40 and the women will also be close to 40 .. reason why they are seeing population decline

Impotency is on rise and we see even people aged below 30 cannot produce even one kid.  Lots of childless couples nowadays. No wonder the fertility centres are blooming across the country. Waiting till 40 and producing kid will be very tough especially for impotent ones even after taking treatment. Probably need to send them to basic course on *ing if there is any .

What you smoke when you write on ICF? Sweden , Norway had already passed law law which  punish men who buy sex . France too recently did . All this from pressure from feminists. Iceland went one step ahead and even banned porn similar to saudi. Pressure is now on most of European nations to implement punish sex buyer law.

Maybe some feminists support prostitution just like some support hijab but majority is against legalisation

It is so, so sad to see so many Indian incels nowadays.

Again talking from the ass that it's feminists getting them banned when mostly it's religious and politically conservative people who do. Biggest example being websites ban in India under BJP. But it must be feminist

Did you even read what I wrote? Since when Sweden , Norway , Iceland are religious nations ? Religious societies punish prostitutes these nations now have specific law to punish sex buyers mostly men.

Germany, Canada, Australia, Netherlands - they are all pro-prostitution, because its benefits far outweigh its negetives.

PS: Iceland didnt ban porn. And the pressure on these issues come from conservatives, who hold incorrect religion-based views on prostitution, not feminists, who mostly know that prostitution ban creates more problems than it solves.
