absolutely. total war between two nuke powers is to be avoided at all costs. But India do not have an option but to escalate now.

India must wait till S-400 arrives. After that we will be able to declare no flyzone on Pakistani side.

For the time being, Lets get our Pilot back and acquire some land on LoC

so look at this now:

India claims they shot pak F-16 jet:

- it fell on pak side of border - pak saying no such thing happened

Pak calims they shot 2 indian jets:

 - one fell on indian side - india says no such thing happened

 - one fell on pak side ...here is proof - india says yea that happened

clearly both parties are doing damage control on what really happened.

dude you realise that in war you dont ask for proof.

Its based on actions taken.

1, India goes inside pak drops munitions.

2, India claims non state actors hit no pak army or civilian hit. Pak claims no one hit.

3, Pak enters India to hit indian army depot but drops munitions on a un populated area- but IAF  interceptor strays into POK and it is downed. Air superiority unit hits pak air superiority unit ??.  / or IAF conducts an other raid with a mig 21 ?? ( why would they conduct a raid with a mig 21)

so motive for PAF is to hit Indian arms depot ( meaning they are escalating against IA for hit on non state actors ). this is all we can gather.

Nobody is saying that india raided with Mig-21s. It clearly was an on the ground call to chase pak fighter jets (which were not F-16) into pak territory. Pak responded to what they said was a violation of their sovereignty when india entered THEIR airspace earlier.

Pak clearly mentioned in the statement that the motive of today's "attack" was to cause no fatalities and to hit supply depots only as a show of strength to India's earlier violation.

which country in the right mind would allow its "enemy" to enter its airspace to conduct an airstrike and not respond back? that is when the escalation happened.

Pak ofcourse further escalated it today but this is how it goes...action ..reaction...propogands..action ..reaction...propoganda...

Wow Pakistan is clearly winning the social media war, now Indians are also hash tagging #saynotowar and praising the Pakistani for treating wing cmdr with respect. Imran is being hailed as some kinda angel of peace. Bas yehi dekhna baki tha

Whole opposition was as if waiting for Pakistan to attack us. They are all united. I am really disappointed the way Indian politicians are conducting them selves now under the banner of Raga. Politics over national interest, be it arm procurement, be it terrorist attack, be it border issue.

All this after zero casuality. Think if Pakistan was able to take out one of our military depo or posts.

Those who forgot our reaction after Mumbai 26/11, can also check how every other day, Pakistanis were killing one of our soldiers on LoC or mercillessly killing in BAT raids during MMS era

Kya din aa gaye aaj? They kill 50+ of our braves and a fortnight later dhimmis are thanking Imran, making him look like a saint on twitter. This is expected of librandus because they are sold out, have no self respect and are proper cowards but baaki sab ko kya ho gaya bhai? This is a war, not a board/video game....T20 strategy doesn't apply to test cricket.

Modi in todays meeting has given a free hand to service chiefs as well. This is not going to end soon. What is discussed on twitter will not impact the decission taken in meetings.

war is politics with weapons. so you need to expect propaganda and counter, it will happen. India will still work to meet its objectives.

Politicians job here is to manage it diplomatically while Indian forces plan and retaliate. Indian Generals are on long haul.

What mind boggles me is that WHY would you send a Mig 21.. i repeat a MIG 21?? against a F16 even though its prone to engine failure as its a 30/40 YEAR old plane?? Why the hell arent we using our Mig 29s and Sukhoi30s which are more reliable??

Even in Kargil IAF lost a couple of planes.. at this rate IAF will be a laughing stock unless we rapidly induct Rafales and Tejas as soon as possible.
