It is a disgrace KL Rahul hasn't been given a continuous run at number 4 since 2015-16

How can a batsman play his normal game when the axe is always on his head? Rohit, Kohli, Dhoni etc have been so lucky...no worries for them when they were trying to cement their spots.

its even more difficult if your boy is made of glass :phehe:

Rahul should just focus on IPL and modelling. Playing for India is no longer considered a respectable gig, especially under a-holes like Kohli and Dhoni.

Now watch Kohli bhakts come in defence of their master and put all the blame on Rahul...this pig-headed, vindictive TM has done so much disservice to a gem of a talent, sad.

What a blasphemy, how can anyone drop Rahul after that epic knock in last match.:facepalm:Poor guy has a wonderful knock and yet heartless Kohli has dropped him.

It is highly unfair to treat players like this. Gets a chance, does not meet expectations and gets dropped. Either do not pick him or if you are picking give a fair run.

This is the last match before World cup, world cup is not the time for giving people who have stunk in other formats where they had been more than extended run and hope he will come good..

Rahul has done well in T20s. So enough signs he can do well in ODIs.  He is the x-factor we need in our ODI side. He is someone who can bat at high SR.

So why give him a chance in the 2nd last match before WC? If he is not good enough, he should not be picked.

I don't think so, he has no idea how to rotate strike.T20 strike rate is mainly due to hs scoring in PP. At no4 you need a player who can play percentage cricket, which Rahul has no clue how to do it. It is too late for him to fit into no 4 role.

If Vijay does well, I rather have Vijay as he gives that option of bowling. The team they played today is the way to go in world cup with Pandya coming for Bhuvi./Shami. Jadeja and Chahal can be changed depending on which team they are playing.

He scored 22 of 28 balls in his last innings with just one boundary , if anything it showed he can take singles .

I am assuming they are trying everybody.

He came in the 35th over , assuming he had scored a 40 ball 60 which he could have easily done had he lasted few more overs .

what exactly would that have proved ? He was a fit for No4 ? Seems like lottery to me

Last match the need was to hit boundaries not take singles. Thats why I said he has no idea how to play percentage cricket. He was one of the main reasons why India lost that match.

So a T20 knock would have proved that he can play percentage cricket ? Arent you contradicting yourself ?

Percentage cricket is also about assessing the situation , Dhawan was going guns blazing allowing him to settle nicely but after he got out Rahul kept on stinking  without even trying to raise the tempo. Kohli gave his spot to Rahul and what does Rahul do pats fulltosses for singles. What do you call that knock.

The knock was neither good or bad , he was being extra circumspect considering he had not played a match in a year . I would understand if he was struggling to time the ball , but that wasnt the case . Just got out early .
