Both extremes, you might notice that most of the fierce dharmic warriors too are Bongs....kinda similar to Tamils, no middle ground with these two groups. SM isn't the be-all and end-all. Tamils needn't be openly pro-BJP since they already have AIADMK (kinda like BJP adjusted to local taste). For Bongs it is a matter of survival (BJP vs TMC/Left/Congress), hence you see the 40% voteshare, if only opposition bloc can be split BJP will win by landslide. Problem is all Muslims have rallied behind Mumtaz, 30% is a huge portion of the pie.

Thus, once a critical mass has been reached, the numbers will explode. We saw it with WB, and WB would have been seen a tougher task in 2014 to crack than TN. velu 1
