zen Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 (edited) Eng: Playing at home. Expecting them to play entertaining cricket on such surfaces NZ: A team with gritty cricketers that seeks to punch above its weight in key tournaments SA: A team with one of the strongest bowling attacks and competitive batsmen, who can take the game away. A few multi-talented cricketers who can hit the ball hard too WI: Has the firepower to blow the opponents away. Some good pace bowlers, along with ARs All these teams would benefit from shortened rain-impacted games. The above teams can make the world cup exciting and memorable! Teams that miss out due to a lack of "excitement" factor: Aus: Good team but we have seen a lot of them in the past Ind: Home team but has many has-beens that could play boring to unwatchable cricket. The last thing you want to see is excitement being sucked out by plodding cricket in a rain-interrupted game AFG/BD/Pak/SL: Can have their moments but expected to be on and off with their performances Edited June 5, 2019 by zen
zen Posted May 26, 2019 Author Posted May 26, 2019 (edited) In a way, this WC reminds me of 1992 one: Round robin group stage Eng is strong SA has that aura of "unpredictability" rather than a favorite NZ is expected to lift its game to play good cricket This time, WI can squeeze in the last 4 Points table[edit] Team Pld W L NR T NRR RR Pts New Zealand 8 7 1 0 0 0.59 4.76 14 England 8 5 2 1 0 0.47 4.36 11 South Africa 8 5 3 0 0 0.14 4.36 10 Pakistan 8 4 3 1 0 0.17 4.33 9 Australia 8 4 4 0 0 0.20 4.22 8 West Indies 8 4 4 0 0 0.07 4.14 8 India 8 2 5 1 0 0.14 4.95 5 Sri Lanka 8 2 5 1 0 −0.68 4.21 5 Zimbabwe 8 1 7 0 0 −1.14 4.03 2 Aus was a favorite but did not make it Ind could only beat Pak and Zim. Though had a close game vs. Aus, which it should have won. Should have beaten Eng too. Game vs SL was NR Edited May 26, 2019 by zen
zen Posted May 30, 2019 Author Posted May 30, 2019 Brilliant start by Eng. Was in cruise control mode .... SA needed to handle the pressure better. But can still bounce back
Cricketics Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Zen is playing and organizing his own World Cup with his own teams lol. maniac, philcric and Stan AF 3
zen Posted May 31, 2019 Author Posted May 31, 2019 Eng and WI are utilizing impact players and bouncers effectively!
zen Posted June 1, 2019 Author Posted June 1, 2019 NZ vs SL Brilliant use of crease and feet by NZ batsmen to negate the attacking length .... but SL do not have the pace to peg the batsmen to crease NZ appears to have picked up from where it left in 2015! Let’s see if it can build momentum
Zero_Unit Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 Teams that I think will make it to the final 4 IND NZ AUS ENG Teams that I would like to see in the final 4 SA NZ BD AFG I want to see a new champion. Not someone who has the cup already.

zen Posted June 4, 2019 Author Posted June 4, 2019 Impressed by Buttler's knock vs Pak! Walked in at 118/4 to take Eng to 288/6!
Clarke Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Pak BD Afg Eng (Moeen/Rashid Bhai from bradfordistan) Alhamdulillah

I am not going to miss a single Windies game this WC. And I hope Russel and Pooran bat for at least 30 deliveries in every game
Vilander Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 AFG BD PAK ENG for semis. PAK going all the way in sal la
zen Posted June 5, 2019 Author Posted June 5, 2019 Canceling SA as it has been poor so far. Will reconsider if it improves its game
zen Posted July 11, 2019 Author Posted July 11, 2019 It appears as if the two teams that I hoped to see in the final are on their way to playing one .... a first-time winner is on the cards Both teams delivered in pressure games to make the tournament memorable. NZ stepped up its game when it counted. Eng was just amazing as the game vs Ind was a virtual KO for it, and has been playing a KO game ever since
zen Posted July 14, 2019 Author Posted July 14, 2019 My top two teams also produced an amazing final .... In the end, cricket won, which is what my goal is!
