Some people were whining why our openers don't go full blast.It is better to be 40 for no loss than 80 for 4.I really hope they play conservatively and build a partnership even if it is slow.

It's not the tournament that is boring but the real standard of the teams are being exposed at the big stage.

SL do not have the pace to exploit the surface. Plus the freshness of the pitch may have died down by now

Some guy was laughing when I said NZ had a very solid team.They also have all bases covered solid openers very good middle order good bowling options.They may not be ATG side but they are very good side.

The key difference is that you need to know how to bat in this world cup, whereas in the IPL any talentless hack can score runs.

You need better pitches which is more important than the belters which England have been producing recently.

Do you mean T20?

 

IPL is a tamasha league played by aging cricketers and domestic hacks on flat tracks.

 

T20 is a limited overs format of the game which could indeed fully replace 50 over ODIs.

Very professional performance from NZ. Chased down in 17 overs with no wickets lost. 

 

Yesterday, WI chased down in 14 overs but lost 3 wickets. A bit of casual attitude.

Well even at it's lowest, Pak bowling attack is still better than this SL bowling attack.

I expect WI would've chased it down similarly maybe even lesser against this SL attack.

ODIs in general have lost their charm in the last few years,  too lengthy with full phases except for first & last ten overs.

I dont get the randi rona of SL at all. It was a bowling wicket but how they failed to take even single wicket?
