And whats with Vijaysankar hate. He can not hit from first ball if that is the role he is given he will fail but he is a solid bat in difficult pitches he has shown this in Ind A games and in that NZ series. Ppl just watch t20 and loose their head. Many here wanted rohit out this team before Wc on IPL basis , smith was struggling to get anti up in IPL.......now look at the result

He is not a hitter. First ball or last ball. Even Rayudu is a better hitter than Shankar. We don't need solid bat. Rahul (with new approach), Rohit, Kohli and Dhoni are enough solid bats. The guy is built like a tank but has a power of kitten. Bowling is trash. Don't get fooled by incompetence of Pakistani batsmen.

Disagree. You are talking as if Shankar is a Chahal with the bat. He has good strokes and is pretty powerful with straight batted shots and hoicks to the legside. 

 

Not saying he is the answer by any means but he is no mug.

hi problem is timing at the start of the inning and he does not have too many cross batted shots early on, he needs time to settle it does not appear he has a power game like a t20 power game. plays good shots straight down the ground after he settles, he needs to be tried genuinely as a no 4 or 5 as a top or middle order bat and his bowling extra, cant fit in as allrounder power hitter.
