Westindies A vs India A in westindies : July -August 2019 : 5 Un -Official ODI & 3 Un-Official Tests

Gill should seriously consider playing for another country before he starts rotting in this system. Or he should tell KKR management to sell him to Mumbai, RCB or Chennai SK.

He is not going to get a a chance in next 4 yrs with Rohit and Rahane being the choice in middle order. Even in ODI it is difficult for him to get a chance with KL Rahul and Kedar Jadhav being the next in line after top 3. Given that we have some home series coming, it's likely that Rahul will mesmerize all Cricketers and experts , past and present, with his game against Bangladesh, hence I expect Indian team to retain him for another 2-3 years easily. Kedar is not going anywhere before W T20.

I can bet if Gill moves to NZ or Aus, they will gleefully take him in their ranks. Even Agarwal should consider that as he is not going to play LOI for India irrespective of how good attitude and spirit he has.

Gill gets 200.

gambhir's test career had steep ups and downs but his overall record is still very good for an indian opener. probably in the top 5 indian openers of all time after sunny, sehwag, merchant (last two will be gambhir & sidhu). gill looks much more talented than gambhir and if handled well should easily finish with a career avg of 50+

Bangla or SL is fine as well, but when it comes to Test cricket, Aus or NZ are ahead.

Bangla and SL does give him a chance to stay near home and family as well.

Bottom line is untill and unless few super talents go out of the country and perform against this current crop, the rot will continue. It's only then public anger will come to surface, sponsors will stop backing the incumbents and we may see a change in the system. Else the select few corrupted individuals backed by strong financial partners (sponsors, media) and gullible fans will continue to control the game.

he can also move to en. they are the world's best poachers. they would accelerate process and allow him to play in a few yrs time :phehe:

Gill 244 runs in 3 innings ,avg =122.00

Vihari:  224 runs in 6 innings ,avg=44.80

Panchal: 190 runs in 6 innings,avg =32.33

Agarwal: 123 runs in 4 innings,avg=30.75

Easwaran: 120 runs in 6 innings,avg =24.00

Gill did it in 3 innings what Panchal and Easwaran could not do in 6 innings.Team management thinks that rotation policy is applicable only to Punjab batsmen.

That is the only reason why I did not say Eng. They already have places filled in and Gill will need to wait to move Root, Stokes, Buttler, Bairstow in the middle order. Eng Test openers are not world beaters but Gill may also need time to adjust to the seaming conditions. But to your point Eng can't be rulef out totally for young Indian talents who will surely not be treated fairly by their own administration.

Actually the sf loss had made kohli and shastris position weaker..so they just cant take arbitratry decisions any more..gill will be fast tracked as soon as the next selection committee is in place..this is not 1990 s when there was no internet and IPL and guys like Amol Muzmudar et al didnt get a chance to play even after scoring tonnes of runs as there was no publicity...now Indian supporters have become more aware..jasprit Bumrah became a sensation after only playing 2 odi s as everybody in social media  started comparing him to malinga and he was fast tracked.. so i m sure next series you are going to see Gill..

There , that's the problem if you think indian supporter become more aware. They are as gullible as ever and 90 % of them still think Dhoni is solution for all the problem including kashmir issue and india did really well to reach sf of the wc and they are quite happy about it. Kuch nahi honey wala.....

Gill didn't have to face new ball. Opening is a different ball game in red ball cricket.  Comparing openers to a #4-5 batsman is a serious lack of objectivity.

Why was Gill rotated while Vihari, Panchal and Easwaran played every game  !!!!

Because they are looking for new test openers and need to give them as many chances while Gill is eyeing for middle order spot which is occupied at this point.

India fans are as gullible as ever including ex Cricketers who are either lacking analytical depth or paid to promote specific individuals. How do you justify Rohit Sharma being promoted for Red ball cricket and Rahane for ODIs?

Actually given that the mass is largely uneducated or lacks depth, with digital and social media you see a barrage of inputs from overwhelming number of thoughtless supporters with alternative thoughts have very less space to thrive.

When Gill came to crease when ball was 5 overs old -technically a new ball.As ball was seaming around all day,new ball has no significance on this pitch.Gill opens for Punjab in all formats, therefore, playing new ball is nothing new to him.Overall,Gill is top scorer in the series as he was in one day format,no matter how many excuses people make.
