8. 2007 - knocked out early but due to good performances by BD and SL. The tournament was also a boring one   

9. 1992 esp. considering Ind did a full tour of Aus before the WC. Since it was round robin, unfortunately, we had to play all the games. The tournament was, however, fun to follow

Best was Not a world cup but a world championship.

1992 has to be ahead of 2007 surely? We only managed to beat Bermuda in 2007 IIRC. In 1992, we smashed the eventual World Champions and our bitter rivals.

Between 1987 and 2015 it is tough but I am tempted to put 2015 ahead given that we only lost 1 match in 2015 and that was the SF, also thumping Pak and SA in the process.

How is 2011 over 1983?

 

We lost to SA and tied with England in 2011. In 1983 we beat one of the greatest sides ever to play the game of cricket not once but 2 times and once in a final. Beat Aus and Eng 2 other very strong sides of that era.

 

I rate 1992 performance over 1999 where we lost to Zimbabwe. In 1992 we beat Pakistan and lost to Eng,Aus in  last ball thrillers and had the game against SL which was a minnow then washed out or else we could have been in the semis.

The best WC tournament that I watched was probably 1992. Though Ind’s performance was disappointing, this was the best tourney to watch as a) coloured clothing was used for the first time, b) white balls used for the first time in WCs, c) Amazing batting and captaincy by Martin Crowe, d) likes of Greatbach using PPs, e) South Africa’s fielding (Rhodes running out Inzi), f) Comeback by Pak, and g) Aus failing under pressure

has to be 1975 WC, where gavaskar hit that explosive 36, followed by 1979 WC where we lost all games, incl. to a fairly weak SL

70s I can ignore as we could be a side that was too not suited to LOIs

2003 I loved the most. Good viewing on good quick bouncy pitches and the 3 pacers who ruled.

2011 because we won the WC followed by 2003 because it was an awesome performance in SA. Except for the whomping we got in the finals.

We were a bit unlucky in 1999 as we won 4 out of our first 7 games and yet were knocked out before the last Super 6 game vs NZ. Even if we had beaten NZ, we would've been knocked out with 5 wins out of 8 and Zimbabwe would've progressed to the Semis with just 3 wins out of 8 .
