Ian Smith commentary in final moments

Manjrekar is a better commentator than Ganguly. Still remember in the Nidihaas trophy when Dk was taking a 2 of the last ball , he was yelling “Dont take a 2” because shankar would be on strike.

Also in the Ind-Pak game he was subtle trolling Akram acting like a sub.that was epic if you know the art of trolling :giggle:

The guy is a natural troll. World commentary needs him. Better than suckups like Ganguly,Laxman or cringe like Sehwag,Bhajji

my one grouse with him is that he does not give due to Indian pacers. He needs to show a bit more backing in his commentary to Indian pacers, everything else trolling and getting owned etc is ok.

His commentary after grant Elliott hit that six in the last SF was a stuff of the folklore. :hatsoff:

One of the best along with Nicolas and slater.

Don’t forget Bill Lawry. Always impartial and brings so much excitement to the commentary. I am glad for NZ, but they do not have much of a chance against England who seems to have got their mojo back just at the right time and are such a balanced side on paper.

Ian Smith thinks too highly of Dhoni. Even if that run out didn't happen, Dhoni wouldn't have been able to score the required runs. But I like his enthusiasm and hope underdog NZ can pull it off. Their bowlers have to put on a do or die effort within the first 10 overs to trigger an India type collapse.

That's called professionalism and NZers strong work ethic shown by their own players. Ian Smith knows you can't rule a team or a player out until the last ball is bowled. Also Neesham can be taken for runs. With Dhoni still at the crease, anything is possible in the last over. Thats why I maintain he should have batted at 4 at the very least at 5 not at 7. If Dhoni was to play a 40(70) innings it was at 4/5. I thought its a NZ game to lose after the top order failed and too much for first timers like Pant and Pandya to do the hard yards.
