The Ashes (2019)

Even in Anderson's presence Aus had better personnel. Ironically England is riding on the coattails of Anderson's replacement to stay alive in Ashes.

Just because England defeated India last year does not imply it is invincible at home.

No, not in English conditions. Even one bowler's absence can make a huge difference. As an example, 2005 Ashes, McGrath on his last legs was a huge factor and Aussies lost the games he didn't play and lost the series. Same way, in these conditions Anderson is as good McGrath. His absence is a huge factor. I bet last year's test series against us could have been completely different in the absence of Anderson. Anderson rubs on other bowlers as well. He just doesn't take wickets but also doesn't give anything away.

Cummins to Roy, OUT, uprooted by a snorter! Cummins smashes one into the top of off stump, and Australia are properly amongst 'em again! Roy was a little static but that was precision bowling, fast and straightening to shiver the timbers as he pushed forward down the wrong line. And his trudge back to the dressing room is accompanied by a salty outburst for the cameras!

JJ Roy b Cummins 8 (18b 1x4 0x6) SR: 44.44

did you read the post I replied to?  Dont get your panties in twist after reading just one sentence. and yeah Aus dismissed for 179 without Smith in first innings.  So, they are winning this game on the back of their bowling and not batting.  They are not missing any of their top pacers.  We did on England tour, 2 of them.  Regarding Warner, he is very much an FTB, so, would have made zilch difference on those challenging pitches.

Have you seen Warner average in Aus before coming up with your frenzy imaginations and dint you see how AUs won the first match on against eng on the back of single batsmen batting. Are you selling this dream that with Smith and Warner in the team we would have won the series than better wake up before you ejaculate on yourself in ur face.

Hazlewood and Cummins are bowling jaffas after jaffas, almost impossible to bat against such high quality bowling ,they are giving nothing away

If 2 or all 3 of these pacers (including Pattinson) play against us in 2022(?) at home it'll be mighty hard to beat them, especially if they find a couple of able middle order bats! We aren't winning the next away tour in 2020/21 for sure heck we'd be lucky to win a test against them :cantstop:

Are the poms gonna create history by chasing this record total (against the likes of Hazelwood and Cummins)?    It certainly does not look all that impossible now. Does it?

pitch has eased out quite a bit. but it's been high quality batting for the most part as well. real chance for root to play a great 4th innings captain's knock.

Good gritty knock from Denly. The rest of the team should carry on from here.

should be a easy win for eng if they keep their heads. their real batting begins now. the hero stokes, the dasher buttler, the spunky bairstow, the composed woakes, the gritty leach, and the fiery archer can all bat. and there's old rooty too.
