Play him at 4 instead of Iyer. Won't do any worse than him but atleast we'll have another bowling option

Exactly he should be given chance he can't slog from ball one but he has no weakness against short pitch or fast stuff.. and once settled he can be real bad @$$

So, this was the thread as to why Jadeja should bat at 6. It makes sense but going by the left hand thumb rule, your best batsman should bat higher, Pandya will always get the nod ahead of Jadeja.

It's not about where Jadeja will perform with bat better but it's about playing whom ahead can maximize India's batting outputs. Hence, if I am 4 down at 30 overs, I will send Pandya next because he can bat through from there and take us to match winning total.

5 is the number for him. After Kochi 2013, this is first time in 7 years Jadeja has played a worthwhile innings at no.7, only due to the fact he took time & started hitting from 45th overs.

But the million dollar question is if he can be consistent.

yes thats problem, hardik deserves promotion but jaddu is useless at 7

Jaddu again today showed how his hitting ability becomes better when he has had his eye in, 20 ball in today. although patel bowled crap but jaddu balance was so better while hitting then it was when he came in

I think he was batting well during his first 20 balls too.

The problem with Jadeja batting at 4 is that our top 3 will face bulk of the overs and do stats padding. Then whoever is coming at 4 will have to start smacking right from go. So, Jadeja will not get his time to take 15 balls to get his eyes in.

I would not allocate any batting position for Jadeja as such now but depending on the game situation and position where we will be at, Jaddu can be used as a floater for sure.

he was 21 in 19 balls , if he last over wud have not gotten his way which cud have happened with a high class bowler .

But the things to notice is his balance while hitting when he is set vs When he is not (he looses his balance, bat shape )....so he is much more in command when he is set

Jadeja's knock reminds me of a super knock be played in NZ a few years back when India drew with NZ in an ODI.

I just hope he can replicate this batting in Australia during the T20 World Cup.

Huh, you're not confident that there'll be a WT20 in India later this year?

It wont be in India.

International players would rather play a world tournament in a packed stadium then empty one. Here you play for your country and for pride, not money like the IPL.

Plus it will be much much safer too.

The World Cup T20 will be held in Australia.

it was always supposed to be held by them anyway before india's turn. india certainly can win. depends on selections though.

India proved they can clearly and easily win down under.

India will also have the majority of crowd support in Australia too.
