Unfortunate.  But you gotta remember, Vihari is not that experienced in test cricket.  He clearly made a decision to prioritize run-scoring with this partnership, to set the game up well before the 2nd new ball.  Almost a rush of blood dismissal, going after that nothing ball on leg stump.  But **** happens.

It was a calculated approach, just didn't execute the shot right - and that's Warner's USP - he keeps pegging away in high risk areas for batsmen, hoping for that mistake.  Its percentage bowling.

He could have scored 30 (100) but instead took the risky option. At least we now have runs to play with.

I get it that he is inexperienced but last over or two before tea, he should have prioritized not losing his wicket. Even the experienced Pujara did the same blunder last test, for different reason, ultra-passiveness. These things should be ingrained in team's psyche, because end of session is generally when players lose focus.

Massive letdown. The sore losers only needed to score 30 each. We could have gotten to winning positions in both tests.

grass is misleading - I have followed quite a bit of test cricket in NZ over the last few years.  Plenty of flat dead tracks that look like green mambas - some even have the ball dart around for a session or 2, but then settle down into batting beauties.

And then contradict that by judging oh of india score some runs it has yo be batting track hehe.. Look at the footwork and see where the runs are being made where is the bat meeting the ball. See whats going on there.

 Good to see the p’ship b/w Captain Pujara and Vihari. After the drop, Vihari threw caution to the wind and it worked for him but had the opportunity to get a bigger score .... Iirc,  he got a 100 here in the Ind A game

If they get to 300, that is a good come back after the thrashing in 1st test.

This pitch is not one of them. There is consistent seam movement. All indian batsmen except rahane showed positive footwork. 350 and match is on.
