Why why why TM must dole out punishment to anyone doing something stupid in first 10 or last 10 minutes of a session. Unfortunate. But you gotta remember, Vihari is not that experienced in test cricket. He clearly made a decision to prioritize run-scoring with this partnership, to set the game up well before the 2nd new ball. Almost a rush of blood dismissal, going after that nothing ball on leg stump. But **** happens.

So he was scoring very heavily but just looked to be throwing his bat at everything just before he got out. Excellent contribution but could have done more..Just needed to hang in a bit longer. It was a calculated approach, just didn't execute the shot right - and that's Warner's USP - he keeps pegging away in high risk areas for batsmen, hoping for that mistake. Its percentage bowling. He could have scored 30 (100) but instead took the risky option. At least we now have runs to play with.

I get it that he is inexperienced but last over or two before tea, he should have prioritized not losing his wicket. Even the experienced Pujara did the same blunder last test, for different reason, ultra-passiveness. These things should be ingrained in team's psyche, because end of session is generally when players lose focus. Edited February 29, 2020 by Gollum

If only the Seniors Virat and Rahane made some runs and backed up their talking with the bat. Don't pass judgement until both teams bat. This is a batting friendly track.

We could have gotten to winning positions in both tests.

Plenty of flat dead tracks that look like green mambas - some even have the ball dart around for a session or 2, but then settle down into batting beauties.

You say Don't pass judgement until both teams bat. And then contradict that by judging oh of india score some runs it has yo be batting track hehe.. Look at the footwork and see where the runs are being made where is the bat meeting the ball. See whats going on there.
zen Posted February 29, 2020 Author Posted February 29, 2020 (edited) Good to see the p’ship b/w Captain Pujara and Vihari. After the drop, Vihari threw caution to the wind and it worked for him but had the opportunity to get a bigger score .... Iirc, he got a 100 here in the Ind A game Edited February 29, 2020 by zen

NameGoesHere Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 We have become Pakistan. A captain/ player who claims he is doing brilliantly despite all evidence to the contrary. Batsmen who seem to behave as if a 50 gives them freedom to bat brainlessly. Multiple collapses. Ridiculous defeats. Loudmouth coach. Now all we need is for someone to stand up at the end of a lost game and say, "Jai Shri ram, Poys played well". Gollum, maniac, Norman and 2 others 5

Opposition can score more for sure but I will appreciate my team when I think they are doing a good job. If they get to 300, that is a good come back after the thrashing in 1st test. But a team like India should look to win the test, not just improve from previous game.

There is consistent seam movement. All indian batsmen except rahane showed positive footwork. 350 and match is on.
