He is prob the best ODI player in the history of cricket. Test : - Dominated England in England last series, Highest run scorer - Won India's only Test series in AUS as a captain and did well very even in that series - Highest run scorer in RSA series last time we toured there Only place he didn't do well was NZ in last series. Man has an average of 54 and 50+ in all other formats. This is bit too much now. Read again. I said when compared with other greats. That means he is similar to say what kallis or dravid or sachin was in tests. Prolific run scorer but not match winner in overseas conditions. No doubt on his batting ability in any conditions but more on match winning from pressure situation in tests. In odis he has to perform in one worldcup like stokes or smith has done recently to be considered like top level odi cricketer. Atm he might be in top 5 all time odi players list.
Stan AF Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 (edited) There's a myth that Kohli is actually better than Rohit in T20s (sure he hasn't performed well in recent wcs) but the fact of the matter remains that Rohit is an actual T20 WC winner. As a 19 year old, Rohit played 2 important knocks which were crucial in helping our team win the WC. The first game(must win game , if i remember correctly) he played against SA he hit an all important 50 and he helped us in winning over SA and made us sure we entered the semis. He was MOTM in that game. In the final against Pakistan, he made a crucial 30(16)* coming into bat at #5 or 6, can't remember exactly and his late innings flourish was the reason why we made those crucial runs. Our victory margin was 5 or 6 runs over pakistan btw. I'd rate these 2 crucial knockout performances over kohli's anyday. Edited August 10, 2020 by Stan AF Norman and maniac 1 1

As an all format batsman? Yes you're right. There's absolutely no comparison. But in ODIs and T20s, there certainly is. In fact, Rohit's impact have been bigger than Kohli's in LOIs in the last three or so years. 2 hours ago, Adamant said: I don't believe in this choker s*** and all but if you believe kohli is a choker than what about sharma? Agree again. Both are chokers but Kohli is the bigger one. Period. He has done well in the Wt20s but that's about it. Rohit has hundreds in a wc knockout, a CT knockout and was unbelievable in the last world cup. That cancels out Kohli's wt20 heroics. 2 hours ago, Adamant said: T20s- Kohli>>>Sharma ODIs Kohli>Sharma. Nope. Rohit has better record in both the formats in the last couple of years. 2 hours ago, Adamant said: Sharma's batting capability is so much limited to flat batting conditions that I won't even keep him above babar let alone kohli 95% of the wickets in white ball cricket are flat. So anyone with a functional brain will chose Rohit over Kohli simply because of his ability to put on the 140s and 170s. Most will pick Rohit over Kohli anyday in their ODI team. adi B Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Depends ,if it's a normal match then Team A anyday over team B but if it's a Final ,I'd rather prefer Team B ,pretty sure Kohli would choke and it would be 2 vs 3 lol Stan AF 1
Sandeep99 Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Team B because Team A has the biggest choker the world ever witnessed. Starc or Stokes won't be able to save the match with this loser around.

The fact that you had to go all the way back to 2007 to list out says he did * in last 10 years. Kohli without a question is the undisputed match winner in T20Is

(Matches won in away conditions since Kohli's debut, Bangladesh & Zimbabwe excl) It's clear kohli has missed many chances to win matches. Of course he has played great knocks but 3 match winning tons in away conditions out of which only one in SENA country is pretty low for player of his caliber.

In odis & tests kohli is nothing special when compared with other greats yet. His best chance is 2023 worldcup. In t20s i agree he has performed really well. So basically you are accusing me of doing bhangra over bilateral stats but you yourself consider him a top 5 odi player of all time.LOL Top 5 is apt, when did I say that he is better than viv or tendua. If he performs well in 2023 world cup ,he will become the GOAT.

Anyone who saw that innings rates it amongst all time great T20 innings. Rohit played a good cameo but it's nowhere near virat kohlis innings. Secondly ,Joginder Sharma was also a world Cup winner ,so is he better than bumrah?LOL Rohit has no answer to kohlis performance in 14 and 16 world cup. Actually Rohit Sharma is not even the second best T20 batsman in the team. In t20s- 1.Kohli 2.Rahul(can get to the top) 3.Sharma.

This criteria is easily the worst ,it tells us nothing. I believe in the soft runs and tough runs theory . A great batsman is expected to score tough runs , that's all what he can do rest is upto the bowlers and other batsman. Now tell me how is kohlis 149 in eng first test not a great innings, those were actual tough runs. Similarly kohlis 153 in Sa,120 odd in challenging Perth conditions all of these were tough runs. I am the first one to acknowledge that he has made too many soft runs in home tests.yes, but in away conditions he has done more than what was expected of him. Dominating a series is another aspect: Kohli scored nearly 600 in eng and 650 in aus on a single tour ,sachin Tendulkar after 200 tests didn't even score 500+ once in a series.
