Indian Players I wish would succeed in near future

Saini -- Big fan of this guy ... I really want him to see in test matches.... selectors have some sense and give the opportunity where he suits best

 

Rahul -- I wish he find his mojo back...He is one of the best players i have seen in the recent past....He has himself to blame...all those reckless shots from nowhere and T20 has spoiled his battling....selectors and team management is doing a good job and showing some faith in him...Now, its up to him to utilize and come back strongly

 

Pant -- for no reason fans want his replacement...he got a test century in England and Australia in his little career and not sure what else he can do....He didn't played enough test cricket in india and once he does that, his avg will increase multifold...He will become top wicketkeeper batsman in on time

 

Shaw --- Again...he himself has to blame for letting that talent go....he is from mumbai and the lobby will give innumerable number of chances in the name of talent until he becomes successful....personally, i want to see more of him...i thoroughly enjoy his batting

 

Gill --- he will carry forward the legends of dravid and pujara...very calm head over his shoulder ... I thought he should have given a go in NZ tour....he deserves to be in the indian test side...want to see him more

 

Kuldeep -- i think he is going in pathan way ... he needs to figure out what works for him....Pathan and ishant has lost their way by taking too many inputs...glad Ishant came back strongly....He need to figure out what works for him and stick to it....Ahhhh...cant forget that ball against babar azam....Its funny chahar played ahead of him in worldcup semis...

 

Sarfaraz khan -- Big big fan of this guy...ideal number 6 ODI batsmen...very street smart and takes those cheeky singles ...always keep the oppn on toes...dhoni/bevan mold batsmen...looks like he figured it out ...he needs to consistently score runs to get noticed by selectors...

Me too on same page ..  I would rather watch a team  where each player will make you to sit up and watch & enjoy.

Pant: He has lost every ounce of self confidence he had over the past year. Just look at him bat at the World cup where he didn't really light the world on fire but was so comfortable and nonchalant in the way he played and compare that to the NZ tests this year. He is a shadow of that player. His head has been messed with. I so badly want him to do well and shut up the critics.

 

Iyer: Looks a grafter and fighter. Really like such players. He has done well so far and hope he keeps going. Just need to improve his starts maybe.

 

Shaw: This guy is India's answer to Jason Roy, maybe more devastating. Can throw away his wicket sometimes but will transform the team and rectify the slow starts we get, as he showed in NZ. Get him fasttracked as Dhawan's replacement before 2023.

More than anything I want a couple of mentally tough batsmen to develop in white ball cricket. It is ok if they have mediocre overall records, but if they have the ability to raise their level in pressure situations, if they have good nerves and can outclutch the opponents, I will take that over potential superstars making their names in meaningless matches. I want a Steve Smith type batsman for ODIs, a Samuels clone for T20s. We don't need to be strongest possible team to win 2023, we need a team that can win back to back KOs, doesn't matter how they get there. Right now we are like 1999-2015 RSA, getting to top 4 is much easier than winning 2 consecutive KOs.

Totally agree with this sentiment! We need some mentally tough players who thrive in pressure situations. Players who seem it a privilege to be on the grand stage fighting instead of fattus who stack up fat records in jamodis and go awol in KOs.
