I understood everything. Culture part alone doesnt make it great. These local tribal Deva worship is done in villages all over India with different names. Come to Jaunsar Bawar in Dehradun and I will show you temples of such devas who posses people. I have seen that happen. Now whether those people do acting or it's real is debatable.

Off topic: This is 9th century temple of the local tribal deity  named Mahasu Devta in Jaunsar Bawar of Dehradun.

Fair enough. What is your objections to the first movie? Even though the dubbing in many languages were not optimal to convey the original script in Kannada. But people could connect to the subject because of the reasons you have highlighted.

Nothing wrong in showing biased chars, but they could have showed a little bit of arguments of the other side. How the reservation benefits are exploited by the creamy layer and it is not reaching all dallts  and OBCs . The fact that even Ambedkar had stipulated reservations for a couple of decades after independence. How some merit students are commuting suicide because they can’t make it even after getting 90%. How do they justify the dialogue that just 70 years of reservation policies won’t do justice for 5000 years of discrimination?

Yeah it was a one sided movie. Discrimination no doubt happens but reservations only make the issue worse

Typical Vampanthi 101 or Dravidian politics 101 movie. All Savarnas are bad, Bharadwajs ,  Tripathis, Agarwals are monsters. Dalits are of course shoshit. Christian and Muslim characters are broad-minded , UC Hindus are monsters giving Supari to a LC criminal to kill their daughters and their Dalit boyfriends. It is a communist recruiting vehicle to brainwash young people to justify reservations . Typical atrocity literature of Dumeels no wonder the OG is a Tamizh movie who champions Aryan Invasion theory

Why does a movie highlighting such cause need to cover every single issue? When animal was shown people were not crying about both sidesim?

It is a movie choosing to highlight one specific issue and using typical exxageration as movies do.

I never see such complains when movies shows muslims as villains or such one sided things many times.

But as soon as a movie shows a subject you don't like, it needs to be the most oscar winning movie ever covering every single side and nuance. Why?

Communist recruting vehicle indeed. Every time this topic so brought up you guys throw such childish tantrums.

And guess what, what the move shows is still a huge, huge, huge issue in India and other aspects you have highlighted like reservation is stil a very miniscule aspect compared to this.

Privileged people never understand, all you can do is cry and whine when such topics are brought up. If a movie shows women rights you cry about that and want both sides. Same for other regions, same for caste. These movies need to be the most nuanced movies in the world and cannot highlight one issue.

Meanwhile we have comolet nonsense movies like animals and others being super Hits and no one wants nuance from those.

I have always called a spade a spade, will never fall for this PCorrectness BS. I have vehemently criticized Animal here , calling out Vanga’s Ill-placed masculinity in both Animal and Arjun Reddy/Kabir. I have liked the first Dhadak  for Ira music, treatment of young people , scripts and acting ( only  the Marathi OG) and realize that caste/class  divide is a modern day Indian reality and women are targeted for family honor in a char-log kya Kahenge society . But this Tamizh movie is a biased opinion of reality and plays to the gallery of Commies, dumeels, Ambedkarites  and pardon me to use the word - wokes  like you .

MTC, take off your pinko glasses and realize that othering that you do is not universal

Nah, movies for entertainment cannot be expected to all be oscar winning movies covering all bases. Movies have used exxageration right from the beginning and it's nothing new.

It's no more biased than the kerala files or Modi movie or Manmohan Singh movie and other such propaganda movies which were promoted heavily recently.

Kollywood makes the most grounded, realistic movies about the ills of caste discrimination, police excesses, tribal/worker rights, social issues. Speaking of movies like Bison, if people find them uncomfortable or irritating to watch, doesn't change reality. Work towards ending this garbage caste system (even Savarkar wanted that), has cost our civilization enough.

Other industries (even Malayalam which is my favorite presently) are casteist af, in fact you will struggle to name a Dalit onscreen protagonist or powerful cinematic voice from other industries, 20% of our population ghosted just like that. Why have we never had love stories of Dalits in YashRaj productions?  Why is it always a Malhotra, Kapoor, Sharma, Varma, Mehra or Ashraf Muslim?

More power to Mari Selvaraj, Pa Ranjith, Vetrimaaran etc. I don't like some of the issues they raise but wish every industry had such representation, cinema should be all inclusive. Tamil cinema has enough legit faults to criticize/condemn, but not in this regard.

1. The story is convoluted with so many characters.

2. Rajini cannot dance or do action. He is too aged.

3. Too long, and some stupid stale twists.

4.Loud music with so many slow walks.

Overall a below average movie.

Personally Anirud's nonstop nonsense rap song during fight scenes was probably the most annoying thing. He is doing this in every single movie. The above points are applicable for all the mega star movies. To make sure it is not a commercial failure they create needless stupid character. In the end there is no story.

The issue here is not the absence of story. Here the story is convoluted.

I believe the director has to change the story and add artificial twists to fit the extra characters.

Why can’t they make movies on the ills of reservations and how it is impounding the caste discrimination even further as only rich Dalits and OBCs mostly get the benefits of reservation?

Such movies and makers are the reason for the genocide of Brahmins in TN in the 60s and 70s. If terrorism caused KPs to be forced out of Kashmir, Dravidian dumeel politics did the same for TamBrams.

Pushpa is a Dalit protagonist. Dasara also has Nani as Dalit.  The hero of kantara is also from backward class.

It is just that you have not noticed them as those movies might not be your cup of tea. And that the cinephiles sneer at entertainment movies and discount the representation in them.

Watch  Dhanush’s Karnan  . It shows caste discrimination classically without any propaganda. It is shown as a class struggle and police excesses perpetuated as stooges of rich class. Ends in a positive note too.

Conveniently changed the caste of the oppressors from Thakurs to Brahmins as the backlash will be handled  from a softer caste

Tamil media should have refrained from trolling telugu cinema as "Masala garbage" and "Casteist" .

In Response tammie cinema is being trolled with words - "Opression/Suppression/Depression".
