Why 4 tests against England when we go and play 5 there? 4 ODIs, 4 T20s, you kidding me?
This is where cricket gets bit boring i.e.playing same team again and again. I love England cricket team but 9 tests is bit of an overkill. Why cant we organize some games against BD or Afg? Fans and players both will get some change. Also people will hate me for saying this but I would love a 3 match test series with Pakistan. 13 years and counting we played last test with them.

Jeezzzussss, Talk about a tightly packed schedule.

Playing all SENA within one year and a T20 WC to boot with. And this is not including an Asia cup and a IPL. Laawwdd have mercy.

On the bright side this will force TM to give more chances to young blood. No matter how much they resist, impossible for the usual bunch to play so much in a year. Looking forward to see more of Shaw, Gill, Saini, Siraj, Nadeem in tests, a few more surprise candidates too may emerge. Same with white ball, pretty sure after IPL they will send rookie squads to Zim and SL,

SL & Zim tour must be utilized properly for youngsters only.  Even try out a Young skipper either Rahul or Iyer.  Asia Cup is squeezed before WTC final I think so let's see how that pans out.

Hopefully Covid situation improves before our home games in October.

Also home Tests vs England may happen in UAE I think..  India is still a high risk country..  Don't think Poms will tour us.

Could be six tests in England for us if we qualify for WTC final.

Exactly. I'd take 3, maximum 4 in our away cycle.

bcci is trying to bring ashes like hype and prestige to Indian test series. If CA agrees, even B-G series will be a 5 match affair but they aren't ready for that.

I personally like this as it gives more chance for our players to prove themselves overseas. Last time Pant the test player was discovered because he was given chance in a dead rubber 5th test match.

BCCI can hype as much as they want but performances need to speak. We are perhaps the worst touring team to England. Even with so much riches and resources, Pak and even SL outperform us in Eng tours. 2011 & 2014 tours were an embarassment. I had to skip office for 2 days after the oval test in 2014 so that my frnds dont mock me...such a gutter level performance it was.

England will play 5 tests in India during their January-March tour to the subcontinent. It was confirmed by none other than Ganguly. Although, chances are, it might be shifted to UAE due to COVID risks in India.

I personally believe this is the make or break for many of our test stalwarts like Kohli, Rahane, Rohit, Ashwin (especially overseas). I fear that Kohli will lose his captaincy next year during this time of the year. Hope I am proven wrong though.

Best part to look forward to is the way our speedsters perform away from home. We need to try out Saini, Siraj, Nagarkotti, etc.

My personal predictions:

1) Make or break for Rohit's test career- I feel he will do well overall but not sure in England with the swinging ball there. He will do ok in Aus / SA.

2) Bumrah/ Shami will cement their names as best fast bowlers ever from india.

3) Kuldeep will find it hard overseas (except perhaps Sydney). Ashwin will eat England alive in ind but will struggle overseas as usual.

4) Ravi Shastri will weigh around 100 kilos with authorities searching his properties for unaccounted loads and loads of Rums/ Whiskeys/ Tequilas.....
