Rest Bumrah and Shami from the 3rd ODI and T20Is

It's a dead rubber alright, but its a major spectacle for the broadcasters and sponsors after a long break due to pandemic. Even though Australia have won the series, they would not rest there major players. India having lost series will look to avoid a white wash. Therefore i don't think any main Indian player would be rested imo. They will look to lose it by 1-2 rather than 0-3.

There was two weeks break post IPL, although there is training and nets.  But this tour was well scheduled in advanced and if they knew that they are not in position to take workload of entire series then they should have taken break during IPL by not playing half or few matches for their respective franchisees. What's the point in giving more energy during domestic tournament and taking rest in series against one of the major cricketing team. When did series against Australia become less important than few IPL matches ?

There's warm up matches for that. Anyway rhythm isn't the problem, he was good in the IPL. He's tired

Practice against well oiled Steve Smith, Warner, Labu >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> useless bewda sessions

They will have to play the 3rd ODI, otherwise it may give vibes of running away after 2 big losses.

But the T20I series is a separate one and we can easily play Chahar and Natarajan for the whole series while resting Bumrah and Shami.

All our 3 fast bowlers ... Bumrah, Shami and Saini ...  are looking tired from 50 odd days of the IPL, in the heat of the Middle East.

They need to be rested in the T20Is atleast.

Play Siraj, Natarajan and Chahar in the T20Is.

We need to keep Bumrah and Shami fresh for the crucial test series.

Starc didn’t go through UAE heat and he looks like crap.  Cummins did and he looks much better than Indian bowlers.  Stop blaming IPL heat for something with no correlation to reality.

Where have you been the last five years?  IPL is way more important to Indian players than international cricket.  Fat boy Sharma out front could have told you that.

No place for ego, we must do whatever we can to increase our chances in the D/N test. Running Shami, Bumrah, Saini into the ground will only be self-harm.

I don't think Bumrah and Shami will rest. They are few stars within this team with marketing value. Not good for sponsors if main players are rested during marquee series. They may rest for a match but I don't think they will rest for all T20i against Aussies. Same with Kohli. If these guys don't play then the sponsors and board won't be happy. They will have too unless injured. Rest etc will happen for odd match or during low profile tourneys. Broadcasters and sponsors won't mind that but not in this series and in all matches. There is too much money now and value for stake holders in this series.

Aussies have rested Cummings, may rest a few others as well. Broadcasters should have no issues with our players resting.

No Saini but Siraj in D/N test or maybe play both of them in the warm up D/N test & pick who's better on the basis of form.  I think people are writing off Siraj easily here.  Guy was running through sides A cricket for fun.  He is the dark horse especially with new ball.  Why Brainless selectors & TM didn't added him into ODI squad is beyond me:facepalm:

Ipl will end Indian cricket.

without ipl you will not be getting 5 test in eng and aus.... or playing against top team every year. Don't blame ipl, eng,aus players also play ipl. If management and captain is incompetent along with bcci babu blaming ipl looks much easier for you.

Cummins has not bowled that well either. He was quite expensive in the first 6 overs of both matches and picked just 1 wicket in these 12 overs.

He picked up 2 cheap wickets in his last over last match, when the match was practically over and tailenders were trying to achieve a RRR of 16+ or something like that and trying to hit every ball.

Australian seamers have better stats than their quality of bowling because they had the advantage of huge huge scoreboard pressure.

And Australia have rested Cummins for the 4 remaining LOIs because they want to keep him fresh for tests.

50+ days of constant cricket tires fast bowlers ... I don't think it is debatable even.

Starc is bowling badly due to some other reason. And I don't think anyone has claimed that every bad performance is due to the gruelling IPL.

IPL is very good for Indian cricket and cricket in general.

But the BCCI should not schedule long gruelling tours against big teams just before and after the IPL.

The SL, WI and Bangladesh tours can be squeezed in here, where new players can be given chances. Such players don't usually play every IPL game and are usually a bit fresher. Plus the big players can be rotated.

Exactly it's incompetent bcci...why do they even schedule like odi,T20 and test in one go that itself is overkill.

Aldo, now Rabada has got injured too.

Archer and Nortje are also not looking as sharp as they were a few weeks back.

Kiwis were the smartest. Rested Boult from the T20s vs WI.

Just shows that IPL isn't as easy as it is made out to be. That too in the heat and humidity of UAE.

Our star players are insecure and reluctant to make way for younger players in LOIs. Kohli even took a full strength team (all the fit regulars) to WI immediately after the WC! Otherwise see NZ or England, they keep grooming so many youngsters in LOIs especially T20Is.

See how England played the series vs Pakistan. Almost no one who played Tests played in the T20Is. Unlikely to happen in India with Kohli at the helm.

English summer almost starts with the end of IPl..  So you can't do much about that.

BCCI has done some good work for next time as Next tour starts in late July in 2021..  Before that we got SL,  Zim & Asia Cup.  Up to Kohli & other Test regulars to go there & play A games or county cricket.  Let the young guys handle T20s.  But stat boosting is considered paramount in Indian cricket.

Pick Lotan, Chhotan and Ghotan as the 3 pacers in the T20Is.  It would still help us.

At worst, we will lose ( that is happening even now )  ... but Bumrah and Shami would get some much needed rest and get refreshed. And not just physical rest but mental rest too.

Australia aane ke baad 2 hafta rest hi kiya hai.. when you are not in rhythm, you need to bowl more, not less. Even on flat pitches. Any match play is better than not playing.

Agar khana bhi Kohli hi pakayega, to selectors kya karange?
