If there is still debate why he shouldn’t be in the X1, then he shouldn’t have been in the squad in the first place  however with Ishant’s absence he becomes the most experienced fast bowler from India. If he is not even good enough to start still then he shouldn’t even be in the squad.

 

However he is in the squad, so pick him and give him all games and then totally move on if he sucks.

He's a much improved bowler than what he was even in 2014.  That's just facts. 

 

However, he still needs to earn inclusion for T1 based on performances in the warm-up games.  I really want to watch tonight's warmup game if I can to see him and Siraj bowl.  I think the live stream is free for Australia residents - maybe I can get a VPN and switch to Aus server or something.

that is our TM n selectors lack of understanding n differentiating players perfomance in diff conditions

Was a much better bowler overseas when he burst on the scene then now . He is just a SG ball specialist

yeah. I have regular web subscription for Willow  but I believe the content Is the same thing on Sling platform  even though i think it is a little different if you have it through a cable provider.

I have a feeling, he will do well this time. He has shown flashes of brilliance even in previous tours much like Ishant used to even in his bad series. Let’s not go by T20 performances. Cummins,Bumrah and Rabada were also getting smashed in IPL and Umesh.

 

Also Umesh was one of the highest wicket takers in the 2015 wc.

I do not think there is pressure on batsmen in the first session to score runs .... It is just that the first wkt ball had hit me written on it but Putcovski hit it straight to the fielder (cracking shot though), while Burns could not leave it properly (got a tickle as he was trying to take the bat out of the way) 

 

PS I am neutral on who gets selected (want the one in better form to be picked)

Umesh could have had his 3rd wkt .... Green was dropped by Vihari at slip, a straight forward catch

Siraj has bowled well so far in tour game .  Umesh has been Terrible outside India.  I still can't forgive him for that trash bowling in 2nd test vs NZ.

In the name of experience not again please. With his reverse swing, he's useful in India and similar conditions, outside Asia, seen enough to know he isn't going to turn around his career

Umesh has bowled well in the practice game so far but he has played enough games in Australia and it's a fact that he is a poor bowler overseas. If TM has any brain they will pick Saini/Siraj for the 1st test.

Bro, Siraj seems to be bit too dependant on the ball moving. He was looking good when there was some movement on offer  ... but has not extracted much life out of the pitch after it has flattened.

 

This is my worry about playing Siraj and I would like to look at Saini first in test matches.

Agree. Wish Saini had played this game. If Saini is to play, he needs all the practice he can get before the 1st test. Is there one more practice game before the 1st test match?
