Lone Wolf Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Warner is already out, Burns is going through bad form, Pucvoski is struggling as well. Green unlikely to make his debut coz both Wade & Head are gonna play in middle order. Starc was butchered by us in last Test series & we did the same in ODIs. Except Smith & Marnus this side is not that hard to beat. If Bumrah & Shami & Ashwin do a good job.. We are in with more than a chance. Just need the luck with toss then I am damn sure we are gonna win.
Serpico Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Marcus Harris was highest scorer in last series against us and he is going to open with burns(Pucovski got hit again and they haven't selected him in second practice match No way they will risk him against Bumrah and Shami). Even Travis head had a decent series last time.. with smith and labu tiring out our bowlers, he can score some fifties down the order. One positive is Aussies will have 3 left handers in top order so Ashwin can be very effective

Adamant Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Win the toss, bat first (obviously) and score above 350. Send a nightwatchman if a wicket falls during twilight, never risk sending a batsman in twilight session. Toss is the most crucial thing here. Also the opening bowlers should be Bumrah and Siraj/Umesh not Shami. This test match is probably our best chance
WC2011INDIA Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 I just have this feeling that we will win the first test and/or kohli will score a big century before leaving for home to be with his wife & child. We will lose the remaining 3 badly. This way the optics will change. All the blame will go on the soft target hahane and if he doesn't perform with the bat too then he will be kicked out for good. Very good chance of hahane having a nightmare tour. I am telling you, this is all an elaborate setup. Cruel , but if that means hahane goes then so be it. Cricspin, nevada, Norman and 1 other 1 1 2
Lone Wolf Posted December 9, 2020 Author Posted December 9, 2020 (edited) Looking at the schedule & Venues if we do manage to win Pink ball test.. The chances of us doing well in this Test series improves drastically. Warner is a beast in Australian conditions & kills the game in One session or two. He is a big big miss in first game & I seriously doubt him to be available for second as well. Next tests are at MCG & Sydney which both should suit our batsmen. We are gonaa lose in GABBA brisbane regardless of toss.. Extra bounce the height of Aussie pacers &, everything goes to Australia in that venue & it is a fortress unbreached for more than two decades. Edited December 9, 2020 by Lone Wolf

Except in the 2nd game last series where our bowlers bowled too badly in 1st inns.. He & Finch staged a match winning first wicket stand. Other than that we handled him quite well considering we make heroes out of debutants. Ashwin will be a key bowler against him. Not a big threat Imo.

Gollum Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 I can buy this line of argument since easier to pick 20 wickets in 1st test. But better to have no expectation, that way we can enjoy the cricket more. Norman 1
