No FC for almost 10 months, white ball habits will be there to be exploited and none can do that better on Aussie concrete slabs than Hazlewood. One must be patient, ready to leave many deliveries outside off, play late, none of the half-hearted fishing nonsense. Granted he isn't McGrath but has required attributes to reap the rewards...and Aussie slip cordon doesn't miss many. Either him or Smith will be MOS. 

 

If Lyon enjoys success again I will lose my mind. Even Lankans and Pakistanis handle him better than we do. We are always in charity mode with him bowling, last time in Adelaide I think half his wickers were of full tosses and rank long hops. 

 

From India expecting Bumrah to be the best performer. But playing for the weaker side, Aussie umpires, our legendary catchers.....too many obstacles to overcome and end of series stats may be misleading in his case.

Lyon is a quality bowler. No way losing wickets to him is as embarrassing as losing wickets to Moeen Ali or Okeefe or other low quality bowlers. Ali is mediocre May be not low quality . In fact Lyon can be in the list of the greatest off spinners to play the game.

Lyon is quality but still we should do better against him like Mayank showed last time.

Quite a few good bowlers on the list. I have gone w/ Starc considering: 

 

• A couple of games are at Adelaide (Pink ball test) and Brisbane (likely to get results = a big pie from the cake of 40 wkts)
• Left arm express pace bowling angle so can trouble Ind batsmen with bounce, pace, and balls coming in and keeping the line 

 

If I had to go with a spinner (considering MCG and SCG), it would probably have been Lyon, who is arguable the best test spinner at the moment (Ind spinners usually need specific conditions to do well in)

Starc to get Phainta as usual from us..  Have a feeling Bumrah will also witness a mediocre series.  Shami & our 3rd pacer may outbowl him.  Cummins to trouble us with Bouncers.

Cummins and Hazelwood. Our pacers will struggle for wickets. Bumrah's average will come down to 23 by the end of the series.

Starc can strike rhythm if he gets a good spell in  .... also he is not bowling to an Aus/WI ATG batting line up

Hazelwood is the dangerman for me. This guy has that Mcgrath length which will trouble most batsmen. They just have to wear him down cannot give him early wickets.

Wow Cummins seems to be the runaway winner so far. Are we underrating our bowlers fast/spinners?

Hazlewood will be fresh as well, was mostly warming the benches in IPL. I don't rate test bowler Starc that highly at least not in the class of the other quicks on display. 

 

Cummins, Shami, Bumrah however played all matches in the desert. May take a toll as the series progresses.

At least for the Pink Ball Test, Indian bowlers should have an advantage as it should swing more. Umesh can bowl well in that case. It's unfortunate they didn't put Bumrah on this list...

For the other 3 tests it will hardly swing at all... Ideally Saini will come in for Umesh for those 3
