Team for next Test

Agreed with the changes. It might be “unfair” to Mayank and Vihari but KL and Rohit seem better fit and more capable of adding runs than these two with their current form. However, I’m not sure if I’d ask Rohit open the batting, given that he has not batted even once in current Australian conditions (including ODI and T20).

KL, Gill, Pujara, Rahane, Rohit, Pant, Jadeja, Ashwin, Siraj, Saini, Bumrah

I dont think Vihari has done THAT bad for him to be dropped. Id keep him for another Test.

If he is kept, then I hope he moves to 3 as clearly Pujara seems to be struggling so would be good to swap spots and see if that benefits both of them.

he hasnt looked great either, dont think he has a big future for India.

We have won the match, we should avoid this culture of making changes after every match. It is what Kohli was doing. What if KL Fails, do you go back to Vihari?

What has Rohit done for a month that makes think that he can plat test match against Oz bowlers?

Saini for Umesh!

Based on what you saw so far, do you think Mayank is going to succeed as a batsman in next Test?

This!! Sometimes you have got to keep a winning combination as much as possible to keep the momentum. Using that logic lets drop Pujara too, hes done worse than Vihari and also doesnt have a long future.

Rohit (week long preparation)

Gill

Pujara

Rahane

Vihari (unfair to drop)

Pant (gets under Oz skin)

Jadeja

Ashwin (sacrificial opener, blunt ball)

Natarajan (leftie and brings variety)

Siraj

Bumrah (a weeks gap, or would have rested him due to workload fears)

Yes, all negative regressive players should not play anymore in this important series

can play in India...

We don't need Vihari as we now have Jadeja.

Rohit and Rahul in for Mayank and Vihari...

We have to send Pujara to open. He's done and dusted and is useless anywhere else. Atleast he'll hunt down the new ball..
Saini in for Umesh

Pujara
Gill
Rahul
Rahane
Rohit
Pant
Jadeja
Ashwin
Saini
Siraj
Bumrah

Lol at People wanting Rohit in place of Mayank.  Dude has failed again & again & is not at his peak as well.  Poor form in IPl as well plus 34 years of age.  Mayank needs to be given next 2 games as well.  Perhaps work on his defence as well.

Rohit has severe technical faults against Moving ball..  Both Lbw & off stump caught candidate.   Rahul deserves another go I think as a MO bat.

Great victory for India

From 3rd Test we will get ideal batting line up with stroke makers if the right changes are made.

R Sharma

S Gill

C Pujara

A Rahane

KL Rahul

R Pant

R Jadeja

R Ashwin

N Saini

J Bumrah

M Siraj

For the Home tests Vs England add Kohli for 1 of the seamers. Seamers will rotate, spinners will be Jadeja and Ashwin as usual.

Need to continue with this line going forward.

No not really, did you see Oz try to get a better combination for this test when it was clear Burns was a major liability? The issue with Kohli wasn't just constant changes, it was the wrong team selection (like Kuldeep on a damp, green like a moss Lords) more often than not.

Cool trivia - which team did Kohli retain for the first time in 37(?) tests, also where & what was the result?
