Man what do you mean Muslims and Christians by "bought" by DMK. GTFO with your sanghism. If you want to believe that people voted 50 yrs for Dravidian parties because of caste then so be it. I am just glad that people like you are not in my state. We will continue to grow and keep providing for your states , spread your sanghism elsewhere

Bought as a voting bloc. It means they believe in appeasing them. Stop viewing everything with tinted glasses.

Re 50 years.

The truth is a bit complicated.

The split in the congress resulted in permanent dravidian rule. In the fight between indira and kamaraj, Dmk profited. Congress was in constant decline in the state from that point. The BJP was formed in 1980s. By that time they expanded Tn was solidified under aiadmk and dmk. So Dravidian movement has benefitted from a churn in national politics, the decline of the Congress and the rise of the bjp.

Re keep providing

I am sure the poster is aware that many Tamilians from the Kongu belt goto Bjp ruled Karnataka to make a living.

Infact the rise of BJP in the center has actually made youngsters engage politically now. There is a renewed interest in the works of Periyar and Anna. Periyars books are now selling like hot cakes after a long time.

do you got any stats to back it up or as usual pulled it from your @ash  :giggle:

DMK comes to power ( with the help of other 20 fringe parties )  only when people are bored with admk

If we ask any random DK/DMK person in the street to explain about Dravidian ideology , 95% of those IDIOTS will say saving common people from the  clutches of Brahmins ( as if they have no other thing todo other than exploiting other castes )  and preventing people from learning Hindi by force

so much bullshit and little progress that kanimoli run school teaches Hindi , and untouchability is still prevalent in significant number  of villages ..

Again apart from these personally I am seeing more youngsters getting involved in left wing politics. Good signs for TN

Lol. I love the fact that you think the future is going to change in TN without being in TN. Dravidian ideology is well and truly alive thank you. Infact the rise of BJP in the center has actually made youngsters engage politically now. There is a renewed interest in the works of Periyar and Anna. But yes please continue to dream it is good to see

Wait a minute there cowboy. I can understand the unpopularity of BJP but what do you mean by dravidian ideology and periyar's books being popular. many people are seeing the light that periyar was a telugu. @coffee_rules claims he is kannadiga. whatever you have to read periyar's original opinions and speeches. He basically said Tamil is a kaatumirandi mozhi (wild man's tongue for non-tamilians) and English need to be encouraged. I can understand English as a common language but his comments on Tamil makes me puke. How can you be Tamil and call periyar as a great hero. If you do, then it makes me question if you are really Tamil. in either case I wouldn't want you to take the Tamil case as you have no understanding of history.

He was an opportunist who rose to popularity during British times (you can put two and two together). The fact that Anna created a new popular party DMK was a compromise to those who still believed in the Hindu religion which is most of Tamils, even Telugus and Mallus who lived in Chennai. That clearly tells us that Periyar was not well liked by his contemporaries and only gained popularity by being out there and unpopular. This is what he did to gain popularity (or the lack of) by breaking ganesh statues

What do we see here in every street - a ganesh statue. Its the common man's god. this vermin and his books will be never popular. You also see the "atheist" trick that he never badmouthes Muslims and Christians. If he so dared do it, he will be clobbered :whack:

All propaganda by BJP bhakts as per people like him. Even Stars who seem to be apolitical like Rajni are speaking against EVR, they have the guts now and this fellow talks of EVR legacy reviving. EVR is from a Kannada speaking community settled in TN, he was born in TN.  Please don’t call him Periyar (the elder one) , he is a bloody EVR.

Cine stars can never be apolitical. Even if they aren't, they will be urged to give their opinions. Rajni doesnt have what it takes to create influence here. Kamal is trying but its always been admk/dmk

See eps is shwred.

But problem with aiadmk+ is cadres and local leaders have a total lack of coordination.

Word is BJP getting 15-25 wonly. Too less , I think, but if it gets NDA ahead, BJP will have to swallow some pride. Or could it be a game plan to let ADMK have more seats and lose, so some consolidation is done for future?
