Any one can buy a party but it takes loyalty to get the people to vote for. Really how about some extra cash and laptops. most of the people in TN and India are stupid and vote for their best "interests" Only minorities vote on basis of politics.
Stan AF Posted March 5, 2021 Posted March 5, 2021 (edited) If I am not wrong and this guy is the BJP party incharge for Tamilnadu. This tweet is from his account. Correct me if i'm wrong. They must really think we're that stupid. Hope the TN Cauvery delta farmers association is paying attention to this. Mccoy, not going to correct you. Edited March 5, 2021 by Stan AF
Yoda-esque Posted March 5, 2021 Posted March 5, 2021 Fair enough. I'm not talking about TN being bipolar. I don't want it to be bipolar but these are the ground realities. I'm talking about multiple parties need to exist in India as a counter balance to the duopoly that is shared between BJP and Congress. If it turns into only two parties, then its a sign of bipolar politics. There is a reason I want ADMK/DMK to exist and its not because they play dravidian politics. Infact I don't even like the BS but its a fallback when the center starts its "mainland" centric bias. If you don't think such biases exist, you only need to look at how Shiv Sena is acting right now. Or for that matter how Northeast gets very little focus. India exists by the philosophy of "unity in diversity". Such things won't exist in a bipolar country. Lets not go into what Tamils outside of TN vote alright. It has nothing to do with this thread as the names itself indicatesNorth East is developing in leaps and bounds under Modi, perhaps more than any other PM.

It has nothing to do with this thread as the names itself indicates Ok. But on being bipolar if you look at BJP+Congress in the lok sabha its between 280-360 seats out of 543 seats for the past 4-5 election cycles. So on average 35-50% of seats have been local outfits. If anything the congress falling away has resulted in more space being occupied by regional outfits. India is far from getting bipolar. The BJP is emerging as one pole with regional outfits the other pole. Its good that you mention Maharashtra. It has a balance of national parties (146 seats in assembly) and regional parties (rest). This is also the same at the national level in the lok sabha. I will accept biases exist. I am sure biases exist in TN as well when AIADMK preferring the Kongu belt and DMK Northern TN and Chennai. I have a friend from Madurai who says the city is always neglected by both outfits as its in the south. He tells me that everything in TN is Chennai centric. This is same situation in Maharashtra where many people from Marathwada and Viderbha think politics are Mumbai-Pune centric. Ultimately if you want to reflect the true diversity states need to be cut into smaller fragments. Otherwise even in big states (such as TN and Maharashtra), no matter who is ruling biases will continue to exist with regions ignored. The Shiv sena have no real base in Viderbha and are a mumbai centric party. The region suffers as a result. The concept of unity in diversity. I feel regional parties are not the only options for reflecting that diversity. Ultimately many regional outfits are based on single caste based entity. National parties are the same but encompass many more diverse castes. There is more diversity and internal democracy within national parties at a state level than the regional outfits. Take the BJP unit in TN, we have had a woman who was president now we have a SC. The person in charge for seat sharing apart from Shah is a Reddy. If you think about it, The 91 reforms (from which TN benefitted) would not be possible had PVNR not got a near full mandate. With a fragmented nation , it would be much much harder to make decisions of any kind. This is my thought. The DMK actually had many ministers in the CG from 1999 to 2013 without reciprocating power sharing in TN. If both TN based major parties can leverage their power in the CG because of arithmatic then clearly some other regions miss out. Ultimately there are finite resources. These are my points. But in summary I do accept the points you make. Especially the ones about biases. ravishingravi 1

He is not there to please TN people. Also. The tweet was in 2016 and BJP were in opposition, was looking for a reason to raise an issue for the election. All politicians do, not using it as an excuse . Cauvery dispute has two sides and both say they have a right, it needs a different thread to discuss. Cauvery dispute has been milked by both states’ politicians, nothing to be surprised about. Edited March 5, 2021 by coffee_rules Yoda-esque, diga, ravishingravi and 1 other 1 2 1

Stan AF Posted March 6, 2021 Posted March 6, 2021 Coffee, Spare me the bull man. We've heard the same bull before from congress. You guys and congress are the same to me. BTW, heard that a certain national party had approached Kamal Haasan's MNM to take owaisi as their alliance partner and if he did so they would fund his campaign. The proposal has since been rejected.

ravishingravi Posted March 7, 2021 Posted March 7, 2021 Ouch. I always say about TN. Don’t listen to the loudest noise. The atheists. The so called secular. There is an overwhelming silent majority that just minds it’s business and does what it has to. Ram has great significance in TN and it’s story. But not in same way as in the north. It doesn’t mean they feel any lesser devotion. Don’t form opinions on tamils based on noisy ones. diga 1

If you stop typing all over this thread, maybe you'll learn a thing or two. Its almost like you WANT TN to go Bengal's way. More it goes that way, more happy you seem to be. Because more problems in a state is more opportunity for BJP to find a way in. It seems BJP doesn't want an alliance with ADMK in the long term. That is why you and other bjp supporters try to push this narrative of tn becoming a bengal. They want bjp's rule to be totalitarian and in a way makes the minorities' insecurities legit. That's what I glean from this thread and the commenters' narrative here. If you don't respect local parties and try for a bipolar politics in India, you are going against "Unity in Diversity" philosophy. This is not good in the long term for India.

As far as not being to TN, I can assure you that you are wrong on that one and that I have practiced "unity in diversity" ,if you know what I mean.

Stan AF Posted March 7, 2021 Posted March 7, 2021 (edited) BJP wallahs calling other parties corrupt is cute. Case in point SC staying karnataka cm https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/karnataka/relief-for-yediyurappa-as-sc-stays-arrest-in-corruption-case/article33677938.ece No other party in India has bought congress/opposition mlas (in atleast half a dozen states)and toppled congress/other party governments like the BJP has done over the last 7 years. You guys have taken horse trading to another level altogether. Get off your high horse. You guys are no saints. Edited March 7, 2021 by Stan AF
