ShoonyaSifar
Pant was NEVER as bad at keeping as has been made out to be. He was as good or as bad as any other young keeper. With his initial success in Eng and Aus, plus the positive press he received, he immediately became a threat to Dhoni's LOI spot. Initially it was all a targetted vilification campaign hy Dhoni-Kohli PR amplifying each and every mistake he made (Dhoni was making more mistakes, Saha also made some errors but all was ignored), intention being to ensure Dhoni's place in 2019 WC and 2020 T20 WC remained secure. Remember the stories about his poor attitude and comparing himself to Dhoni, (as if it was s crime), basically not falling in line and prostrating before captain-coach duo. Best thing that could have happened to him was Rahane's leadership. Kudos to him for having grabbed the chance offered to him. One failure and his career would have been done. He was anyways written off after the last IPL- dropped from LOI squad and not picked for the 1st test. I'll still say that he will not fully reach his potential under Kohli. The trust simply will never ever be there. Whenever the inevitable leadership change happens, is when Pant will reach the peak of his career. dilliboy
Pant is only 23..obviously he was going to be rough when he started his career at 21..even Dhoni took years to perfect his technique. It's because Pant's batting is at another level that his wicketkeeping gets overshadowed but he has always been pretty good against pace and just needed to keep regularly in home tests against spinners to improve. Which he is doing now and you are already seeing the results beetle 1 Link to comment
Trichromatic
Been great in this match. Improved as the series went progressed. And we had experts claiming him to have horrible series with gloves in India. Mosher and beetle 2 Link to comment
