Upset alert(?) Assam won against Hyderabad by 2 runs. To be perfectly honest, it should never have got so close, Assam were cruising at one point, and should have come out with a much larger margin of victory. They almost bottled it, but held their nerves in the end. They did miss out on important NRR gains though. Rajjakuddin looks decent as a lower-order hitter, Amlanjyoti bowled tight, Pritam Das took 3 wickets, and of course Riyan Parag half-century. Could make the group interesting?

 

Edit: Smart catch by Denish Das(?) at deep point (at least during Assam's innings, Denish Das was wearing number "3" on his jersey), a quick pick-up and release to effect a runout by Amlanjyoti (identified due to keeper on stump-mic) ... if only they had names on their jerseys *sigh*

Can anyone in the know about Assam/East Zone cricket and able to identify these players by face confirm or correct the above?

 

P.S.: Apart from Riyan Parag (who broke through in U19 as a early-blooming prodigy), none of the others will get a chance in the IPL (East Zone bias), so being a thorn in the side of other teams filled with (alleged) potential IPL contenders is probably the best it will get for these lads, fingers crossed :cheer: (but please play "normally" against Bengal :p:).

This guy Yudhveer Singh Charak looks impressive, tallish guy, high arm action, looks to have decent pace. He was with MI as a net bowler in UAE for IPL.

Saw him bowling yesterday. Well built guy got some decent bounce but didn't look quick to me.

Was bowling lot of slower balls, on quick deliveries was hurrying batsman.

Bro, Sangwan bowled quite a few balls at 143 k to 145 k in that IPL òand looked quick visually. He was hitting the deck very hard.

Wow ... Sangwan looks really quick and accurate. Saw the H/Ls too. His bouncers were very quick.
