Trichromatic Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 Quote Australia captain Tim Paine has been fined 15 per cent of his match fee for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the third day of the third Test against India in Sydney. Australia captain Tim Paine has been fined 15 per cent of his match fee for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the third day of the third Test against India in Sydney. Paine was found to have breached Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during an International Match.” In addition to this, one demerit point has been added to the disciplinary record of Paine, for whom it was the first offence in a 24-month period. The incident occurred in the 56th over of India’s first innings on Saturday when Paine criticized the umpire’s decision following an unsuccessful DRS review against Cheteshwar Pujara. Paine admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by David Boon of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees and ratified by the ICC Cricket Operations department as per the COVID-19 interim playing regulations. There was no need for a formal hearing. On-field umpires Paul Reiffel and Paul Wilson, third umpire Bruce Oxenford and fourth official Claire Polosak levelled the charge. Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand, a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of a player’s match fee, and one or two demerit points https://www.icc-cricket.com/media-releases/1969452
sandeep Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 oh he abused the umpire, so punished. No punishment for Smith's disgusting violation of the spirit of the game. No punishment to Matt Wade for faking body-charges at Rishabh Pant and Ashwin. Aus Police announces investigation into racist abuse is "complete" with nobody punished. Too right "mate". beetle, velu and asterix 3

Not a single Aussie player is remotely injured where as India has lost minimum two players per match to Aussie body line, the captain allows a debutant no bouncer ball so that he can score a 50 just because he had concussions in previous matches... The only possible way I can see us hoping for a Draw focussed Pujara gets out cheaply like he did in the 2nd match thus allowing the team to play positively and win the match...

That would have driven him nuts. When couple of catches were missed because of his lack of reach in the short-leg region, one aussie commentor said "get cam green in there" He was clearly troubled when batting by Pant's "wowawiwa come on Ash" after every ball. Pant without sledging caused his mind to disintegrate. With regard to the racism allegations, I would rather listen to what Bumrah has to say. On the third day, it was definitley some racist bogan calling both Bumrah and Siraj as monkeys or something to that effect. but on the fourth day, its only siraj who alleged that the crowd was racist not bumrah. Siraj overreacts sometime. He gets emotional and pleads with Rahane to go for review which pitched way outside leg. It could be because of his dad dying and him not being able to go back. Mental issues are rarely discussed especially in these times. What I have seen from Aussie forums is that some in the crowd were giving him some stick for being hit for 2 sixes and something like calling him Shiraz (a popular wine from Austalia) and "welcome to sydney, siraj". Thus the police investigation came out as not guilty due to lack of evidence. I'm against racist behavior but mild banter should be part of the game. But I can understand where Siraj was coming from and his input even if it was actually racism or a misunderstanding, must be addressed. sandeep 1

How much opening stand Pujara (number 3 batsman) needs in Brisbane? A 100 or a 200 runs stand by a youngster and lazy Rohit? Will that allow him to play positively or will he start his blockathon to waste time and runs scoring to play for a draw? What is the score people expecting Rohit To make so that Pujara play positively? Edited January 11, 2021 by asterix Stan AF and sandeep 2
