How is he a farmer?

Yep.  Premature commenting on my part.  My bad!

I tend to be super-sensitive to loss of human life and jumped to this conclusion:

he was on a tractor - tractor overturned - he died - police got accused of shooting - Sardesai got fired - and all we were talking about is Sardesai's firing, which seemed insignificant in the larger scheme.

His previous work can be argued as freedom of Press, free speech , but sick man was allways politically motivated. He allways quick to justify any deed done by his political leaning parties which was anti Hindus, anti BJP, anti India, communalism, hate speech. He is a smart man. This time he was caught by his balls as his tweet and reporting was live and was misinformation to incite rioting. It could have pottentially resulted in in loss of lost of lives had Delhi Police not Suspened the Internet.

If he wasnt so well connected, He could have been behind bars

True.  He probably should be behind bars.

No, I was not mocking you, the post should have been on another thread. He was in the farmer's tractor rally, was not even a farmer, was the point.

Got it.  I must admit I am super-embarrassed by my knee-jerk post.  I was reading this and the SII fire deaths and could only think of the death of innocent, impoverished people.  After watching the videos, it is clear that the protests have gone completely out of hand.  On the BBC video that @Clarke posted above, those tractors should've been disabled by having their tyres shot - on the spot.  Many bystanders and police officers could've lost their lives.

I have tried to understand the farm laws from all sides.  GoI certainly got on the wrong foot, but backtracked and made necessary corrections.  But the other side has taken this to a whole different level.  And that is a pity.

I think you have not seen what happened there then. Police was chased by these rioting protestors who overwhelmed them. Police lines broken, they were beaten and a lot lost a lot on that day.

Indian Police is not same  or equipped as ones in west. They totally rely on the fear of the Police. As i aged, I have started to have sympathy with Indian Police.

This is absolutely correct. Government got it wrong. Accepted it. Resolved each issue. Finally it ended up suspending it. But plan for 26th January was done long back. I do recall  some farmer union leader on some republic tv debate indirectly mentioning it. hence, I said, Farmers wont go back till 26th Jan.

Navreet's grieving family members, who described his as a "shaheed (martyr)", said he had gone to Australia for higher education and got married there recently. He came home to celebrate his wedding, they said.

Sardesai will pop up again in some capacity...

Be it spearheading Aap in Goa or starting a youtube channel or being anchor at another news channel or writing for some online only site.

What made sardesai followed was his inside knowledge on axis polls during elections. That is gone.

Truth is modi had approached him in 2013 to do an arnab. He was secular...the rest is history.

Never heard this one before. He has always been anti-Modi from 2001 onwards, you should see his hostile interviews even in 2013. Remember this one...

But this grapevine is new, maybe in 2013 he was looking for some support in media to get him into the national scene. They need media as much as media needs politicians. But, it will be strange and illogical to approach someone who has been a Congress/UPA stooge all along and was hostile to you for 15 years. Hard to believe.

^ I have seen above. There are many such videos before 2012. NDTV news anchors, Him and Thapar used to treat Modi like uneducated Street Tea shop hawker in their interviews. Allways giving a smirk as if Chaivala has no brain to understand their question.

You can google videos doing custom time search and hear them just for laughs.:cantstop:

Here, watch this. How the interviewer keeps on smirking and throwing words to be one up and make Modi as non serious casual person, only a educated sensitive viewer can figure out. It was just that Modi kept on replying with sincerity
