Joe Root has scored 554 runs in just the last 20 days alone!

Wow, Root is making the most of his good form! Monty Panesar mentioned in a YouTube video that he played the sweep shot 300+ times during the Lanka tour. Hope our bowlers have a plan to counter that.

With another 15 tests to play this year he could go for Viv Richards/Yousuf's most runs record in a calendar year. It would be something to break that.

1788 runs in one calendar year. already got 554.. definitely doable. Hell even Kohli/Rohit/Puji can go for that record with 13 more tests in the year.. hope someone breaks it

Yeah. Absolutely. It is possible. But he has to keep scoring daddy 100s like he has done so far.

Any idea on how many tests are Australia and New Zealand playing this year?.

Australia are playing six more if the SA tour happens if the SA tour happens this year. NZ will play 5 more

He is not going to keep batting in Chennai and Colombo forever though. Conditions elsewhere will be lot less favorable to batsmen.

That's some way to downplay a visiting batsman's achievements. Colombo produced outright wins. Chennai most likely will be an English win as well. Root would have played 3 back the back match winning knocks in Asia. Has any Asian batsman done something similar in SENA?

I'm not downplaying, never denied these are some great knocks. Just putting things into perspective. I couldnt care less if he is a visiting batsman or an Indian batsman. In fact, I rate Indian batsmen knocks overseas than on the roads in India we call pitches.

200* partnership between Joe Root & Dom Sibley is the first 200+ stand against India in India since 208 by Jonathan Trott & Ian Bell in Nagpur in Dec 2012, Root's debut Test.

Contrast this to pretender Psycho who has no appetite for runs.

Root had lots of catching up to do to reclaim the spot in fab four & he has done it in just 1 month. Hopefully premature ejaculation regarding Babar Azam also pauses with this.
