So, PuRane being asked to play domestic and prove themselves. This could be a dilema.   What if they avg 35 to 40 in domestic and return to the side to screw us again?

the "good" thing is that BCCI seems ready to screw ranjis year after year. maybe this is their convoluted way of preventing them from returning to test team - no more FC matches

This will be the final lifeline for these two veterans. If they perform, they will be scheme of things for India's tests but if they fail, there will be two vacant spots and Indian TM and selectors will have tasks cut out before them.

Yep.. we can only pray that these two fail in Ranji for the betterment of Indian cricket

Ranjis are starting from Feb 10, as per that article.

lol, they don't need a 50 to be back against SL. Even a 30+ score will be categorized as "was looking good at the crease until he got out".

As far as the BCCI and TM are concerned, as long as they have a heart beat they are in the Test team.

 

 

Youre hearing it first here. I will NOT rule out Pujara or Rahane playing ODI cricke for India again,  if COVID has its way.

In fairness, Indians look after their elderly much better than the West. So having them in the team makes sense.
