In Eng so far:

  • Helped Ind win the 2nd test
  • Rock solid in the 2nd inning of the 3rd test

Keep it up!

yes, keep up the avg of 30. because that's all the batting "riches" 1.3 billion people can offer. a mediocre player these days in a sub-par team.

Pujara since that famous Aussie tour of 2018/Jan 2019 has the following record.

Overall - Average of 27 with no hundreds

2019-2021 21 35 1 912 81 26.82 2623 34.76 0 9 3 110 3

Outsider Asia - Average of 23.8 with no hundreds

filtered 2019-2021 12 23 1 525 77 23.86 1828 28.71 0 4 1 54 0

Lets see how long he hangs on with the continued lack of performance.

that's enough for Zen. as long as he has an avg of 10+ that is enough for his "blocking" ability.

This yr in Aus, he scored 3 50s in the last 2 tests, and in Eng, already mentioned in my last post:

Pujara at his best has racked up 500+ run series, helping Ind win a series for the first time in Aus ... And now despite not at his best is still doing as good (or even better) as guys who are "in-form".

so, what you are saying is that he should be selected because the others are even more bad.

also add SA and NZ to the list. Include the WTC championship as well. looking at 2021 alone is not enough. what he did (or rather what he didn't do) in 2019 and 2020 should be accounted for.

any batsman who does not avg 35-40 for three consecutive years should be dropped. SRT had 2 consecutive bad years and dravid had 2. Our Nos. 3-5 have had 3 consecutive bad years.

He is already selected. In form, he scores 500+ runs in a series, when not in form, he still contributes as much as those in form. More pertinent question is why are those in-form not able to get big series.

KL, Rohit, Pant, Jadeja, etc. are all supposed to be in good form.

none of them are in good form. if you want good form, look at root.

Buddy, they are in good form (see the series at home and other formats including IPL), the output/consistency is lacking as they are not in the league of a Pujara ... Pujara got a 500+ series when in form and as I said still gets as much as those currently in form
