Its very hard to believe this is not a lab made virus. I always thought lab made virus is conspiracy theory. Nothing changes so fast like that. Exactly. Thats precisely I am thinking too. I mean how often Flu is mutating? I am not expert but this mutation non-sense should have been established phenomena. It takes some time for mutation. Now when viruses move through so many bodies, they could mutate but so should a regular flu or other things. Flu in so many years is well in control. Why? Again I am as ignorant in this field as they get. Really know nothing about any of medical/biology field.

Still so many die ever year because flu virus changes every season. But it is less deadlier. This one attacks your lungs. dial_100 1

Again I am as ignorant in this field as they get. Really know nothing about any of medical/biology field. As human populations achieve herd immunity, the infection rate reaches a lower steady state and keeps overall replication rates low. Fewer rounds of replication --> Fewer changes in gene sequence --> Fewer variants --> Fewer VOCs (variants of concern). Moreover, the less deadly variants tend to coexist better with humans and circulate more than the ones that end up killing their hosts. So, the less deadly ones linger long-term causing milder disease and not setting off alarm bells in human minds. To reach that steady state where specific, less deadly variants become "endemic," we have 2 options: (a) let populations reach herd immunity naturally (which is what many people want, but that will kill large numbers of people over many years like the Spanish flu did. At that rate, 140 million people would die today.). (b) The other option is to reach herd immunity by vaccination. In the meantime keep replication rates low by physical distancing, masks etc. because ... Fewer rounds of replication --> Fewer .... (you get my drift). mishra and dial_100 2

Flu has a much shorter incubation period. Those 3 factors make flu not as transmissible and not as deadly. Flu still kills hundreds of thousands every year, but covid-19 is in the whole another level in terms of being contagious, allowing long incubation period, and being deadlier in symptomatic patients. Also, flu mutates much faster than the corona virus. In a few years, perhaps covid-19 would be like the flu as it becomes endemic and every transmission has potential for more mutations, but the population as a whole is more resistant due to multiple vaccines.

ravishingravi Posted May 11, 2021 Posted May 11, 2021 Karnataka, TN and Delhi are worst performing states in terms mortality adjusting for population. Maharashtra are ofcourse on top but deaths seem to be coming off now.

That is a given. Mucormycosis is due fungus which in naturally present in environment which we have normally immunity against but when Covid hits it makes your body week and strong medication also which leading to people getting Mucormycosis and some doctors suspect its due medication( mainly steroids) not given at right time or amount this what happens if medical facilities or overburdened and lack proper guidance for Doctors who are really stressed

Yeah come live in Goregaon, Mumbai where BMC official says there are no oxygen beds for my parents but we can arrange one if I pay 30,000 upfront. You can also join me in Cama hospital where there is seperate vaccination queue that is managed by various officials and you can get vaccine without token or prior appointment at 2000. So, spare me your rant. We are all angry. But health is state subject. Thats just a fact. Vivek92 1
