Context of Indian Aryan is different than German Aryan. Here Aryan comes from Arya. India's proper hindi name is also Aryavrat.

Context of Aryan the name is that it would be 100% associated with nazi aryan instead of Indian arya etc outside of India, within its a discussion. Point is who would name a kid like this? I would call them muppets..luke any bwood bimbo.

@Vilander

In the countries of Western Europe also the name Aryan or its various local spellings are still prevalent. Arjen/ Arjan etc.

These are the people who actually misappropriated an Indian construct and used it to justify their genocides.

Would you call all those Western Europeans (or their parents) also as muppets?

Aryan is the name in context. Aryan alone. If someone names it with a racial superiority undertone then they are not a muppet but worse they are part of the bigotry.

The power of narrative is the key here, people can easily do their own research and try to understand the Indian cultural context. The fact that Indians have to justify why they use words like "Aryan" or "Swastika" shows who controls the narrative.

Oh for sure if India could just freaking communicate their narrative wider than say USA no China no European no Russia no at least better than lol qatar.... No OK now I got it better than Pakistan?? Pakistan??? Umm no ispr is better..

So let's leave that aside not gonna happen in our life times.

Is this even a discussion?

Jews faced no prosecution in India so it ends right there. Should we start micromanaging Ashkenazi Jews by pointing out stuff they do which are offensive to Hindus?

Oxymoron?

Yeah, there was a thriving Jewish community in Mumbai once. A fair few migrated to Israel. Most of them wanted to return and couldn't because India hadn't recognized Israel back then. Some stayed back.

Among them, Nissim Ezekiel the poet is fairly well known.

This thread has already digressed wonderfully.

Anyways back to the point, Kartik Aryan is an awesome actor, I'm surprised no one's watched Pyar Ka Punchnama! Him and Rajkumar Rao are millennial favorites.

KJO movies are full of uber rich NRIs tackling relationship issues wearing highest quality of clothing and virtually living in castles.

Aryan in Indian context is not offensive, but BollyCriwd wants name their kids based on coolness coefficient or to sound secular or non-communal.  Raj Babbar son’s name is Arya Babbar, not Aryan. At least show what you are proud of.  That’s the point.

Anyway, I have objections with people naming their kids, Aurangzeb, Timur or Babar , in the Indian context, than Aryan. I feel they do it just to rub it in. It is akin to Pakistan naming its Chinese made missiles as Ghaznavi or Ghori!

Why do you care what they associate Aryan overseas.
