Fatty will say this for publicity. It's true though.

India B beats Australia B of 2000 easily. Take McGrath out and it's no where near as good.

Just not good enough.

Which format buddy? Lets talk about test cricket

We don't even have a stable batting lineup in our main team and you are talking about a secons X1. Who will score runs overseas? Sanju Samson or Ishan Kishan. Lol

Just because you don't know about aussie players of that era doesn't mean you can defame them like this.

Let me help you here

Australia eleven  B team

1.Katich(a 44 avg all conditions opener)

2.Elliott or Chris Rogers

3.Brad Hodge

4. Lehmann

5.Mike Hussey

6.Brad Haddin

7. James Hopes

8.Nathan Bracken

9.Stuart Macgill

10.Stuart Clarke

11.Michael Kasprowicz

Let me help some people here.

In order to make a legendary team you atleast  need  11 A grade players.

Now if you have 300 B + grade players, it won't mean squat. Aaya samajh?

Hayden avg 49

Langer avg 46

Ponting avg 52

Martyn avg 47

Waugh avg 50

Clarke avg 48

Katich avg 44

Lehman avg 45

Gilchrist avg 47

Hussey avg 52

These were the batting options available to the aussie team in 2002-03

I know that the resident experts here get their juices flowing when they see Sanji Samson hitting Six on a Sharjah pitch but thodi to sharm kar lo yaar, kisse compare kar rahe ho, please explanation mat dena bas upar likhe hue batting averages dekho aur ye thread ko yahi close kar do.

U r right. In 2003 aus main bowling attack was McGrath, lee ,gillespie & warne and second  attack was bracken, Brad williams , bicheal & kasprowich.

after 2003 wc they came india with 2nd sting bowing option & won triangular series.

i repeat again. take mcgrath out and they are no where near that good. india B beats this above team comfortably at home. australia current would annihilate this same exact 90s B team at home.

They are just names. Doesnt mean **** when you play in india. You will get stomped. In australia with the pace bowlers plus all rounders in the B team, it would be pretty competitive. siraj, bhuvi and umesh with shardul is no joke.

Stop overrating the past. Move on from nostalgia.

averages vs weaker bowling on flat road era. not on helpful pitches. No drs. huge difference. No unbiased umpiring. No advanced technology to study tapes etc.

Come on Jay, I believe you have seen all those players I named above, do you think it is really fair to base their abilities on the factors you pointed out in this post.

I agree that was a fearsome side.  I still can't get over the fact how the hell we lost to a South Africa team which had one batsman & get completely annihilated in NZ.  Unless we win in England this time comparison means sh**.  They have the potential but let's see

Both SA and India had one batsman at that time, so basically it came down to a bowling shootout.

Look at the bowling they used to feast on.

Prasad, bhaji, Kumble etc on Aussie soil on flat Pattas. Srinath was world class but he can't do it all by himself and he was erratic. No where near the quality of world class bumrah Shami and Ishant combo. Part of it is due to no support I guess. Bowling wins games.

Australia without McGrath is no where near as potent. India have good quality in bowling even on bench with Siraj, Umesh, Bhuvi, some youngsters with quality like prasidh etc.

Came down to toss shoot out. And player selection blunder by dunderhead kuli.
