I like Djokovic a lot as well. Dunno about his antics - but he across as a really nice guy as well (IMO). Noone have come close to capturing my interest like these guys... I used to like Wawrinka as well.

Nadal just puts this fake persona, he's not actually really that humble or nice. I mean he's okay, nowhere bad, I'm sure he's decent as a person. But he's a sore loser, and always gives excuses for his losses, and tries to give death stares to opponents at the net, and resorts to gamesmanship tactics. He projects himself as a guy who's just playing and not obsessed with records, when he himself is pretty obsessed with it, or else he wouldn't have achieved this much without that drive or obsession. He criticizes other players for their obsession over tennis(he criticized Nole). Novak personally I feel is a nice guy off the court, it's just his antics and views are very upsetting . Plus his on court behaviour is also quite off-putting, and he's desperate to be liked. But I suppose that behaviour is what drives him and makes him competitive. He does help the lesser ranked players out a lot. It's just his overtly spiritual views are controversial like the "no vaccine policy" and faith and prayer healing etc. Federer is the most diplomatic of the lot. Doesn't try to get into anything controversial or reveal anything off-putting of himself. He's sometimes arrogant, but most players and champions are, on the court. Off the court, he's probably nice as well, as many players have said so. The decision last week was polarized, but at least he was honest and up-front about it, unlike Nadal and Djokovic who give fake excuses to tank and withdraw. Federer is an old guy coming from multiple surgery and hasnt played over a year and a half. He's done so much for the sport he has nothing left to prove .

They are dangerous, if it was just upsetting then you could ignore them but sporing(organizing?) a tennis tournament right in the middle of peak Covid is some next level *in d******* stuff I agree he did make a lot of blunders when organising that tour. So did other players like Thiem, Dimitrov when they agreed to participate and help out during the tour. It was a collective fault. When I say he's a nice guy, I mean he does a lot of charity and humanitarian work, and tries to spread this universal peace message across. He also helps out the lesser players a lot. Like just this week, he offered a private jet to a young and upcoming player Musetti, who had to finish high school the next couple of weeks in time for Wimbledon, and he couldn't get on a commercial plane , because then he would have to quarantine and miss the tournament in case there was a positive COVID case on the flight. These incidents had happened earlier this year. So , Novak offered a private jet for him. This is out of his own will, Lorenzo Musetti didn't even ask him this. I doubt many players would do that. Maybe you can say he's kind of psychotic so he has many good and bad qualities, though that would hold true for every person in this world. This overindulgence to spirituality and peace and faith healing and anti modern science, is what is bringing him down. He believes these charlatans like Pepe Imaz. He's overtly religious. Though, he does have a strong inclination towards Indian roots and spirituality. He does yoga and meditation, believes in life and pyramid healing , ayurveda, Hinduism etc. Gollum 1
Gollum Posted June 13, 2021 Posted June 13, 2021 GOAT GOAT GOAT, that mental toughness DCGS Double Career Golden Masters Most weeks at #1 Most year end #1 (will be sealed this year) The debate is over. One King to rule them all
Gollum Posted June 13, 2021 Posted June 13, 2021 Can he make it TCGS? One more French Open, just one more.
Gollum Posted June 13, 2021 Posted June 13, 2021 Nole now holds most of the relevant records. Murray's 2 Olympic gold medals is impossible to beat. Tough to see him breaking Fed's ATP Finals record, max he may equal it I feel.
bharathh Posted June 13, 2021 Posted June 13, 2021 Djoker staking his claim to overtake both Nadal and Fed as the GOAT. Only player since Laver to have 2 career grand slams. What an achievement!
Real McCoy Posted June 13, 2021 Posted June 13, 2021 Congrats to Nole and Noletards like @Gollum on the epic win against Rafa and Tsitsipas in the final #19. @velu what happened to Rafa velu 1

I6MTW Posted June 13, 2021 Posted June 13, 2021 (edited) Congrats for Nole. Has a strong case for GOAThood, though I believe there really can't be such a definite thing. Each will have a stake and claim. Djokovic really has this superhuman stamina and physical abilities, as well as unheard of mental strength and toughness. This just highlights and elevates Wawrinka's legacy. What the Stanimal did to Djokovic in those finals nobody has managed to do. I think Novak has only lost to Wawrinka in Slams finals in the last 6 years (aside from the FO 2020 beatdown which was an anomaly) Though I still can't become his fan or bring myself to like him, I will still personally prefer Federer. I really wanted Tsitsipas to win this and finally signal the arrival of the next gen and to break the slam barrier of the big 3 or 2 recently. But, the next gen just doesn't have it mentally. I just hope this doesn't break Tsitsipas. He seemed to be the most focused and somewhat mentally capable of the next gen. Medvedev seems to go in a shell when his game breaks down and Zverev is a mental midget and a choker. Edited June 13, 2021 by I6MTW

It is over, Nole is the undisputed GOAT of tennis even if he retires right now. Last week Federer insulted the sport, today Nole saved it. Thank you so so much, the chosen one, the most inspiring sportsperson in my lifetime. Will take time to process what I just saw. Fake fed fan spotted. If you want Nole to win, you can support him openly like the other nole fan. Federer said he is only looking for Wimbledon, not liking his chances in RG, not even confident of playing successive games, taking one game at a time. he was scheduled for a night match and it took him almost 4 hours to finish it. He knew the grass season is more important than a loss somewhere in RG. It was a smart decision. Only a fake fan will consider this as an insult. Hop on the Nole train and don't even say you're a Fed fan you bandwagoner. I6MTW 1

Hop on the Nole train and don't even say you're a Fed fan you bandwagoner. Rightly said on the criticism against Fed. I saw on MTF and social media how tennis fans were divided and criticizing his move. He already said the goal was Wimbledon and he didn't have the game or the stamina to win RG. He also played a tough 4 setter during the night and was tired physically, had tough draw from the 4th round onwards, he came back after 2 knee surgeries and not playing for a year and a half. He has to play and schedule smartly at the age of 40. He was atleast open and honest about withdrawing. He didn't make any fake excuses or injury reason to withdraw only to play Halle and Wimbledon the forthcoming weeks. Unlike Nadal and Djokovic who openly withdraw and tank and give some fake excuses , only to be perfectly fine for the forthcoming matches. Novak openly tanked in the Vienna QF against Sonego after securing YE no.1. He even admitted he didn't give his full during the match. Nadal also withdrew for no reason during the Paris SF against Shapovolav in 19 because he didn't want to face Djokovic. He gave some injury excuse, when he played the WTF rhe next week and completed the tournament with a 2-1 record during the RR stage. Musetti admitted that he wasn't hurt when je retired during the R4 match against Djokovic, he just wanted to get off the court and not see the crowd witness him losing. Then there are guys like Paire, Tomic, Kyrgios who openly come, tank, and give no effort, just to collect prize money. Compared to all these, Federer has done and given so much for the sport. Depsite his stamina and mental strength, he will be exhausted mentally and physically after completing the DCGS, and this year there's only 2 weeks between RG and W. And Nole has overplayed the last couple of weeks, intense matches between R4-F for RG, then the week before at Belgrade, and then the Rome scheduling misshapen where he had to play 7-8 hours in 2 days. He's overcooked. Olympics and USO, I agree he has a chance. Though he seems cursed at the USO for some reason. Something unusual always happens, injury, hitting a lines person, etc

He always moans like he's giving birth when he plays a shot but his opponents are the ones who are most likely to be hurt. He'll be fine. Federer looked cooked at the end of R3 but he wasn't grunting as much as Djoker. The only guy who could beat him at Wim is Federer but he is nowhere near as fit as Djoker. Even if Federer happens to meet Djoker, he will be reminded of how tough it is to outlast him physically and on top of that mentally. I'm hoping Federer meets him at R4 or something when the grass is slicker that will help Federer's attacking style of play. If you look at today's match. Tsitsipas took his chances in the first two sets and was able to win them. then he tried to play safely and that played well into Djoker's hands. You cannot out rally djoker. You have to take it to him. Nadal will be crushed that he was beaten at his own playground and doesn't possess the serve like Djoker to trouble him. Only chance of Nadal winning the Wim is if Djoker gets out someway and he gets to vulture another slam. I think Nadal's chances at Wim are lower than previous years
