The future of test cricket depends on the WTC final

Recommended Posts

This isn’t about who will win /lose.

1975 exciting prudential WC final set the tone for the future of odi cricket.

The WT20 final is considered one of the most important cricket matches ever played in cricket history that changed the course of world Cricket forever.

If this turns out to be a washout or a boring draw, forget world test championship but test cricket’s future itself as a viable format for the game might hang in balance.

Let us hope for a great game because this might be one of the most important test match in history.

Don't think so, this is the first WTC in Test cricket for a sport which has been around for 160 odd years. Test cricket has survived without WTC, and it will continue to do so irrespective of how WTC final goes. Yes, but it has added a whole new perspective to Test Cricket by officially rewarding & recognising the Mace Holder and officiating them as  World Test Champions. I think ICC would do an even better job if they could arrange a 3 match series on a neutral venue between the top 2 teams rather than a one-off WTC Final.

Future of any cricket depends on only one thing- competition.  More n more one sided contest will kill the game.

Pak, WI, SA, SL, Bang improvement can only help the game.

These one off event wont help in long n consistent run coz deep down most know that their are 3-4 teams only that will compete for final spot for year after year. Nothing works better then a close game. We all got glued to TV for a SA-SL game where Kusal perera played that knock. Ind-Aus series caught whole world attention and that didnt have the biggest current superstar of the game Kohli
