This was one of the best fights I've seen so far in Boxing this time. All the other rounds were basically boxers hugging each other and having to get broken up. This was a proper fight.

The other heats are much faster with most of them under 53 sec, but a win would have meant qualification I think

No depends on overall speeds, positions in individual heats do not matter.

Maybe their selectors took a course at the Chennai campus of the Mahi school of team selection :-).

 

I am officially nervous now that the Indian team has hit its stride and reached the QF after losing the first match badly.  As an oldie, I have a very special place in my heart for Indian hockey - having seen their magical play on grass, and then the decline on turf that followed.
