First round it should have been 5-0. One judge gave 1 to mary

 

Second round it should have been 4-1 Mary. But judges gave 3-2 to Mary

 

third round was fair 3-2 to Mary could have been 2-3 as well.

India needs more representation in jury of all sports, period. Even in sports like cricket/hockey/chess we have too few match officials, arbiters, refs, umpires at the highest level and situation far worse in other sports. Need some of our own in those positions to pull strings, influence opinions/decisions, give some nice tit for tat treatment. Not honorable but in this cut-throat competition we must be Machiavellian, end justifies the means. Look at the Americans having 15 million swimming events (still pushing for more) to pad up their records, just because they can.

 

In all honesty, countries which invest heavily in sports are already well off and have excess money to spend. China is an exception, their hunger to win has more to do with showing power to the western world rather than truly loving the sport they play.

 

India already has bigger issues to tackle like raising standard of living of everyone on average. Once we are well off as a nation, then invest as much as you want in competitive sports.

In TV shows (like comedy) and adda sessions, our countrymen (not all but significantly high %) make fun of women in sports, mocking and/or casting aspersions on their appearance, sexual orientation, character, family values etc. Guarantee that **** doesn't happen (at least to that extent) in Europe, Americas, Oceania, large part of Africa and Asia. 

 

@Gollum you must understand that a feminist mindset is not feasible for a society like India where survival itself is challenging for general population. 

 

European and Asian countries are much lower in population and have bountiful economic resources to invest in sports, African countries are not as wealthy as India but they have far lower population density than India(so less fight for resources) and they have a genetic gift for sports just like how Indians and Asians tend to do well in academics.

 

Feminism works perfect in individualistic societies where government provides abundant social welfare and people learn to become independent as soon as they turn 16. Living in India you know what the reality is right?

Also very excited for Satish Kumar too, there is that American boxer called Torres Jr., bloody hell he punches hard. I would love to see Satish Kumar face him, fingers crossed.

#3 in a sport seriously played in Australia, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, England, Spain, Argentina, New Zealand, Malaysia, France etc.

#3 in a sport with 10 countries, half of them from a region with one Olympic medal till now in Tokyo.

 

No use talking about trophies since losing to trash like Lanka/Pak in finals is an art in itself, and nothing to show since 2013.

 

Which is more impressive?

 

People must show love/support to our hockey players.
