Women's events -

Due to the women's team being a bit weaker almost everything is high quality

HIGH QUALITY -

World Cup 2022 - Have done poorly here but let's see how they do post this run.

Asian Games 2022 - Does decently and have medaled frequently (in fact worst has always been 4th) but should look to win Gold considering their performance.

CWG 2022 - A bit tougher than Asian but again haven't done too badly here with a few medals. Should look to win Silver and maybe Gold (defeating the Aussies again)

2. PV SINDHU

HIGH QUALITY -

2021 World Championship - Basically world cup. Sindhu is defending her title here. All top players play here and Sindhu has medaled in each of the last 5.

2022 Asian Games - High quality. Except Marin everyone else will play.

Asian championships whenever it is held - Same as above

MED QUALITY -

2022 CWG - Easier draw. Should win Gold.

cwg hockey is good standard.

and athletics.

wrestling/weightlifting are bogus. no competition.

Will look forward to our Volleyball team in Asian Games.  We can beat some Asian Giants there.

CWG look like Champions trophy to me..  Doesn't get me excited that much.

For hockey enthusiasts:

Men's Asian Champions Trophy in Dhaka starting on Oct 1. Want us to send our best squad and bulldoze the competition. Especially want us to hammer Malaysia, irritating team for last 5 years @neel roy . Also crush Pakistan, Japan, South Korea. Mainly want us to break Malaysians, bogey team in recent times.

Women's Asian Champions Trophy starting last week of October in South Korea. Time to start getting into the habit of winning gold. We don't really manage that at Asian level (1-2 outliers aside) because of Japan, China, South Korea, historically far better sides. But now we must build on Tokyo success, learn to play gold medal matches, dominate tournaments when we are favorites, cultivate winning culture in KOs.

Also we have junior men's hockey WC at the end of the year, we are defending champs having beaten Belgium in the final of 2016 edition. Some bright youngsters from that squad were instrumental in our success in last 4 years including bronze in Tokyo.

even belgium wast particularly good around 2012 but they got their golden generation.

hope we have a few good players coming through so we can do a gold medal run in 2024 and 2028.

broadcast is a big issue for hockey in the UK

illegal streams are a pain to watch.

Hockey match has become more watchable since being made 60min. With breaks and all works out to 90min. Which is less time than a football match

Exactly- even if I want to watch Indian hockey in the UK, no one is broadcasting it

One big hope - no major ego clashes between the federations and players, especially those sports where we have won medals. In the past, federations have tried to arm twist the players after such successes, many a times getting rid of the successful ones because their profile and status had gone up a few notches after the success.

Heartbreaking to see our braveheart girls in tears. Shows how much a medal meant to them.

They will comeback stronger. The journey has only started

yup. lots of great young players.

should look to now continuously win gold in the asian stuff and aim for top 2 finish in cwg.

then we are good for a possible podium finish in 2024.

I'll just update with whatever is coming next.

2021 World Wrestling Championships:

2-10 October.

This is a super high quality event. Those who medal here are Olympic medal contenders. Last time Bajrang, Dahiya, Deepak, Phogat etc got medals. Would be interesting to see how the two Maliks shape up.

2021 Men's FIH Hockey Junior World Cup:

24-5 Nov.

We had won last time in 2016 and lots of those kids went on to be part of the 2021 Tokyo Olympic squad. A good showing here can mean a good run in the 2023 WC and 2024 Olympics and even beyond.
