Even if he is backed, does anyone expect him to score big runs? He will score a struggling 50 at best. Give that opportunity to any hack for 5 tests and even he will be manage to score 50 here and there.

Mayank and Vihari deserve a chance.

reason anyone wud back him is if they think he can score so thats why that option is there

I frankly dont see him scoring, when i see him on crease i can see number of ways he can get out

All 5 test Pujara irrespective of how he does test 3 and 4.

currently we have an upper hand on england in this series and its a golden chance so do u want to take that risk in such condition. A batsman who is so out of sorts that he can be outscored by a tailender many days (not even exaggerating ) in england like conditions .....think again. Unless u see some good signs , thats a different case

Pujara winning the poll :omg:

Because his detractors are not choosing the same person as replacement.

Currently it is ....

Against Pujara .. 10

For Pujara .. 6

P.S -- If Kohli is for Pujara, that is the only vote that matters. I hope he focuses on series wins instead of individual players.

Unlike Rahane , Pujara has got out pushing for runs. You saw sparks of it during incomplete 2nd innings. Rahane has look uncomfortable both the games. I would first bring in Hanuma for him before Pujara.

unlike rahane his head position is gone, once head starts to fall everything starts to fall apart.

rahane has been same pretty much half his career, looks ordinary 10 games n then will produce one from nowhere

I am not equipped to find flaws in international batsmen techniques all I see is an unlucky but confident Pujara compared to a jittery Rahane. If someone has to go its Rahane first for me.

see the flaw...head is falling

With that him or anyone will struggle to score runs. Rahane is throwing wkt whereas with this flaw pujara has become inept . Add to that the desperation for runs is making him push at balls outside off which he didnt do in past.

Hows he unlucky ?? Uska technique hi chala gaya hai.

Shaw is young and given he has corrected some of his flaws and been in the thick of runs, throw him in the lion's den. That is how he will learn. If he cannot play in England, what is he good for? I think Chokohlibaba is in a rut although I do not rate him that highly because of his limited strokeplay. Happens to the best of them. Gavaskar was terrible during his poor form in the early 80s. Greg Chappell scored 7 or 8 ducks in a row. However, I think Hahane and Puji are done. They looks finished even by their body language. Time to create a new middle order, but who will tell Chokohlibaba? :fear1:

Please compare with Pujara from Aussie series where he stood tall against a much superior bowling line up.

Also for those talking about his age , he is younger than Rohit.

Aus is past now , he is batting like he was in aus. His basics are gone.

Rohit is at his peak , age is just a number and rohit have always had better fitness the. Pujara even with his weight gain over the years.

Two changes:

Mayank in place of Pujara. Won’t do worse than him.

Replace Ishant at the first opportunity (he’s not even fit) by either fit Shardul or Ashwin.

It'll be a scandal if Ishant plays rest if the series and Shardul or Shami has to sit out for that.

Those pitches didnt have swing and even there he was surviving by getting hit on his body repeatedly
