Ashwin for Jadeja in the 5th test? (Ind in Eng 2021)

I am into playing 4 pacers in SENA unless the pitch supports spin big time. Depending upon the result of the 4th test, Ashwin can be brought in place of Jadeja. 
 

Jadeja has had a sub par series considering the form he is in and the responsibility given to him. He has the opportunity to both bat and bowl well in the ongoing 4th test. But if he fails and Ind loses, it would not be a bad idea to bring Ashwin in especially if Ind needs to win the 5th test.

it depends a lot on how jaddu bats and bowls in the remaining 2 innings. if he flops on both counts, I would rather see ashwin play.

Moeen is not a very good benchmark tbh, he is struggling for form. He has performed only against India, he is a part timer. 

 

All depends on the second innings, but even if jadeja flops, I don't think Kohli will pick ashwin. He is adamant on proving his template.

Two blijd slog wickets does not mean he comfortably outbowled. They have bowled at par here

Even if you discount Jadeja's 2 wkts, he went for 2.1 rpo, while Moeen at 4.2 rpo! How are both at par man?

I think jadeja will do well on the fourth innings and might do just enough to seal his spot for the final test .

Ideally I'd play ashwin in place of Jadeja and Vihari or any other batsman in place of rahane

yes, jadeja was chosen because he was allegedly the better batsman of the two, but that does not mean he was chosen as batting AR. most people with a brain cell (in other words, not kohli) would know jadeja is a bowling AR

he is the better batsman and worse bowler than Ashwin. If he was bowling AR he would have been picked among 4 bowlers.

 

Recently(last 2 years) his batting has been better than both Ashwin and Vihari so picked

Can we get over this Ashwin debate in this series? Kohli won’t select him on this tour unless Jaddu is injured. 
 

If India manages to win this match, the will definitely go unchanged. 

 

At the most Kohli can do is to bring in his mate Ishu in place of Siraj as he can’t replace others.

Ideally, there are two options:

 

a) Ashwin or Jadeja w/ 4 pacers 

b) Someone like Vihari, who can bowl too, w/ 4 pacers 

 

Someone mentioned dropping Rahane but, if talking about batting in the top 5, he should be replaced with a SKY or a Mayank or a Shaw with some shuffling in the batting order if required (i.e.replacing by bringing in a specialist batsman in form)
